Will be Southport - tough game given we will not have the same access as we have had recently, to some of our AFL listed players now our senior team is out of the finals race.
There is no sadder sight than a young pessimist.

Who drops out from being able to play now?

Hi G - see post #9 in this thread and the players in Bold. At the time it was questionable whether Freijah, Harmes and Garcia would be eligible. By my calcs only Freijah has become ineligible having played 13 senior games. Another player close to the max 12 AFL /min 6 VFL rule was McNeil. He remains eligible having finished the year playing just 12 AFL games.
(please note - this is just going by my understanding of the VFL finals eligibility rule).

Freijah might be eligible as its 12 games during the season and has also played enough vfl games. Once west won?t be able to play so McNeil replaces him and buku out but hopefully we regain freijah.
Sanders we may get permission to play as he is still young and played a lot of VFL recently.

Would be great to have Frejiah and Sanders play for their growth and our chances. Fingers crossed. Anyone have an idea on time they will play at WO on Saturday? Presume it will Sat arvo, hoping for a mid arvo start so I can make it.

Just like '54 again.
The subs from the AFL teams in round 24 were eligible for week 1 of VFL finals, so I wonder whether the club could make a case for the games Sanders had as sub to be excluded from his games played? As others have said, it'd be great if he is eligible.
For those still interested in how our beloved Footscray side might perform for the balance of the finals I can confirm the boys are on the track tomorrow around 10am. Some of the senior boys will be there in more of a rehab capacity. There is also a 10am session on Thursday but with the AFLW side playing at the WO on Thursday night I doubt many fans will be allowed to attend. Normally they would keep the ground locked until 6pm.
Just as well I didn't pack up the tent today and head down to the coast
