Great to see Werribee win.

Emotional interview with Brew after the game. The type of passion that I wish a few of our players had.

That was amazing. I didn't have any skin in the game (or any opinion either way) but when I watched that I was instantly happy they won.

Don't really have or need a 2025 vfl list changes thread yet so might as well leave it here.

Looks like Chatfield is signing full time with Deer Park and will be the assistant coach for their under 16s so more than likely he's done with Footscray.

Get paid a lot more to play suburban footy. The only reasons you would play VFL would be to try and get on an AFL list or get it on your resume as it boosts your chances of getting more money at suburban clubs or for coaching purposes later.
I know some one who was playing VFL and the monetary part was half the amount you would get at a suburban/ country club, huge difference.

Which makes Dyson Heppell's decision to play at Port Melbourne strange. You rarely see older players play VFL after their AFL careers finish because as you say there is usually much more money available in local footy.

Yeah it's weird, like McComb went there for this season but he's already moved on to a suburban club to play with his brother because he knows the AFL dream is over. I suspect that Heppell is moving into a coaching role so this is to ease him in.

Billy Gowers is another one who I am surprised is still playing VFL.

Billy Gowers is another one who I am surprised is still playing VFL.

Especially since he went from Southport to Old Xaverians to Port. He seems like the type of player who would be an ultra dominant Suburban player who kicks 8 goals a game.
