      Just a few quick ones:

Did Lynch play forward all day, or did he play midfield and work forward? Also, how was his tackling and defensive pressure?

Did Boumann go forward at all? Surely, he'll get a promotion next week - who will get the chop in your eyes?

Good to hear Jones had a decent run. With a couple of good pre-seasons, he could be very handy.
Lynch - both midfield and forward and probably split his time 50/50. A couple of nice 2nd efforts but I'm either used to them or the defensive side of his just didn't stand out that much or as much as we normally see.

Boumann - I think all the game he was in the back half mainly CHB. Given that the ball was in Williamstown's forward line a lot he couldn't influence the game as much as a midfielder but he really did exceptionally well. It was excellent the way he consistently fought forward and got in front of his man in just about all the marking contest and he backed his judgement and provided a few dashes up the ground as well. His kicking could use a little work because he likes the short option a bit too much but it was efficient enough.

Jones - the only concern is his kicking. He can roost the ball but his goal kicking needs a lot of work. His a bit like Chris Grant in that his around the ground kicking is far better than his set shots if you know what I mean.

I can't match BT's terrific write up but heres a quick summary of the players

Wight - Started off as the CHB and was moved to FB after Myer couldn't control Murray. Murray got a couple of goals against him but one was a relayed free quick and not his fault.
Skipper gave away a heap of height today as he was pitted against a 207cm giant but still got his hand on the ball in the centre contests. Not as great around the ground as previous weeks but good enough. Cloke had to relieve him in the ruck.
Ward - Played in the midfield and across half forward and had a nice game but nowhere near as effective as last week.
Stack - Did some very nice things and hit a bit of a purple patch in one quarter with his marking but he might still be down on match fitness. Exciting but not consistent.
Grant - Did some great things and made some impressive efforts with his marking but his body language wasn't great.
Reid - A bit quiet by my calculations but seemed to be given a real defensive assignment against Marigliani in the midfield.
Wood - Quiet game and didn't have a great influence
O'Keefe - Played as a half forward and was good but might have dropped off a bit from his form a few weeks back. Came on and off the IC bench a lot and seemed to struggle so he might be getting over a cold. He didn't run or move as well as previous weeks.
Callan - Started off in defence before moving forward. He did some nice things in the 2nd half. Unless there is a specific match-up against the Dees, he might stay at Willy for another week.
White - Defensive assignments for the majority of the game and he was quiet but did OK. One impressive run stood out but his skills weren't sharp today.

          Hope I haven't missed anyone.

I knew I must have missed one. He played mainly in the back line and a bit in the midfield. OK but not much better than that. He needs to get the ball a bit more.

Excellent reports there Gary, one of a very few Willy games i could get to, and the Dogs play the same time.....NOT HAPPY JAN!

Good to see Ward names in the bests again, seems to be on the brink of being a perminent fixture in the Dogs line up, a little in consistant at AFL level but always in the best for Willy.

Good to see Jones bag a few in the ressies Roughead also.

Pat Rose, he's a little beauty.

Thanks GVGjr. As always your thoughts and reports on all players are greatly appriciated.

Can you see a position structure wise for Boumann in the Williamstown firsts? Keeping in mind we still need to balance development of our younger players with also ensuring Williamstown win games.

I'd say he's very consistent but he doesn't do quite enough yet.

Timmy Callan played. Nothing too much to write home about. Might need a few more games to get fitness and full form back.

I have written Timmy up. Solid game but not overly spectacular. As I mentioned, unless there is a specific match up in mind against the Dees he should be at Williamstown for another week or two.

Yes, he has had about 4 weeks and still isn't setting the world on fire.

Yeah, nice 50m goal at the right time, but he is a B&F at VFL level. We know he has a higher capapcity at this level, i'd like to see him earn his spot just a little more.

I think Harbrow's form down back will make it difficult for Callan to get back into the side. I would also prefer to play an extra tall defender in Tiller and/or Everitt to free up Shags to play on a smaller opponent than play Callan.

Picken is also vicariously making it more difficult for Callan.
