For O'Keefe to debut next week that would mean dropping Ego or Hahn and I can't see that happening.Comment

Re: Williamstown vs North Ballarat
Or Everitt or Addison or Johnson or Gilbee. There are plenty of options and if O'Keefe doesn't get a game then he should be looking for a new club. Everitt and Addison havent convinced me that they should hold their spot. Johnno could use a rest with his glute soreness and Gilbee could do with a rest emotionally due to his father.'And the Western suburbs erupt!'Comment

What would you expect in return for him?
Hasn't done himself any favours missing a rehab session during the week that he was required to attend.85, 92, 97, 98, 08, 09, 10... Break the curse!Comment

Interesting that the three best Dogs listed players were the same three named as emergencies for the Dogs this week. Haven't done themselves any harm if an opportunity opens up.Originally posted by The Coon Dog;101399[BWilliamstown- 11.11-77

Re: Williamstown vs North Ballarat
Someone i know was speaking to him today, he said somehting about a groin injury, i cant confirm it tho cause i wasnt there when he said it.
Hes got a few weeks to show that he can do something, i really dont want to see him leave the club, cause hes one of the guys ive kept an eye on since he got to the club, will be disappointing if he does go, but he's really got to start showing something.......but deep down i think it may be a bit to late for that now.Comment

Disappointing for Williamstown.
O'Keefe for Eagleton might be on the cards.
At least it should be.W00F!Comment

I would expect next to nothing in return.
Why did he miss the rehab session? Are these the attitude problems Eade has been talking about?'And the Western suburbs erupt!'Comment

Re: Williamstown vs North Ballarat
I didn't think O'Keefe was that good.
I thought Skipper was our best Seadog with Reid not far behind.
Grant was terrible again, he's really starting to worry me.
Boumann defensively was OK but OMG, how many clangers!!!Comment

Re: Williamstown vs North Ballarat
Like a few players he was only prominent for half the game.
Skipper was once again a good player and he could be a JJ Liston chance.
Not a great day for most of the other Bulldog players although I have been disappointed the last couple of weeks with our boys.
We are also getting short on numbers which is concerning.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment

Re: Williamstown vs North Ballarat
My initial observations were that O'Keefe was creative, particularly in the second half. A concerning thing is how often he just lurked, waiting forward of the pack for the easy release. Even though Daniels didn't have a great day, he's prepared to do the tough stuff to win the ball.
I didn't think Grant was terrible. He didn't have a great day, but he's clearly being told to work up the ground and I thought he did that. If that is his current role, he needs to work hard to push back to provide structure in the 50, rather than doing the long lead, blowing up and just sitting in the middle. His hands were very clean when the ball was on the deck, and he really should've kicked two opportunist goals - if he had've he would've finished up with about 15 touches, 6 or 7 marks and 2 goals - not a bad result on a shocking Ballarat day.
Just finishing up on Grant - I think he really suffers from not having a genuine hard working CHF in the team. I believe he's clearly suited as a full forword - bursting from the goal square and roaming the 50 (like Fevola). He's being forced to play that long lead up position, which doesn't play to either his fitness or his strengths, because guys like Galea and Little are both inside 50 merchants, only.
Next year, he should be plonked in the goal square - at VFL level, he should have Cordy and Jones playing the lead up CHF role. At AFL level, he'll have guys like Murphy, Gia and maybe Johnno who go high up the ground.
Skipper was great - I'd almost consider resting Huddo this week and giving Skipper a run. If he performs well his trade value will rise.
Easton Wood was great off half back, and could easily slot into a midfield/wing position. The biggest query on his game is his kicking, but in bad conditions I thought he was really clean and precise. If Eagleton continues to fumble, stick out one hand in physical contests and provide a lack of run and carry like he has for over a month, then Wood could come in and bring some real zip to the side. At this stage of the year, and keeping in mind Eade's thoughts about Eagle - it's probably unlikely.
On Boumann - he was good defensively, only really being outmarked once against Wundke. He provided some attacking rebound, but his kicking was below par - which is disappointing considering it's been a strength this year. Still showed enough to suggest that there's a lot to work with as a third tall/attacking flanker.
I should mention Pat Rose - say what you will about his off-field attitude, he has some real tricks as a small forward. We're in need of a Milne/Betts type player and this guy can play that role.
Disappointing game, but Willy's depth is really being tested at the moment. The reserves are a rabble at the moment, after looking unbeatable early in the year before losing some key personnel. I would've liked to see how Cordy performed (we'll have to wait for Chris Maple's insightful report
)

Maybe they are. The trouble is we don't know what goes on behind the scene. If a player is not being played there is a reason. Full stop.Comment

Re: Williamstown vs North Ballarat
For a guy who is clearly on the edge of either making it or not, it's extremely concerning that he's not doing every thing in his power to improve. I'm sure Daniel Cross didn't miss a rehab session, even when he was toiling away in the Werribee magoos. Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.Comment
