    Eastern Ranges 4.1 6.1 8.3 8.7 (55)
    Calder Cannons 3.1 7.3 9.5 13.9 (87)

    GOALS:
Eastern Ranges: Dyson 2 Harper Young Cass Johns Wilson Kennedy
Calder Cannons: Thompson 4 Hicks 2 Mitchell 2 Temel 2 Carlisle McLeod Lucin

    BEST:
Eastern Ranges: Gysberts Crowle Mirra Mullett Minahan Kinder
Calder Cannons: Prestia Hine Wallis Liberatore Thompson Guthrie

It seems our boys put on another good display to help the Cannons reach the GF, despite finishing outside the top 4.

Looking forward to hearing from GVG.

        Re: TAC Finals

After a slow start the two games today actually held my interest.

The Cannons did what they do best and won another big game. They got the match-ups right and whilst the scores were close they never lost control of the game. The Ranges got a couple of injuries early on in the game which threw their team structure off balance.

Wallis was very good again. He started in the centre and throughout the game played a few different roles. He has good endurance and covers a lot of ground and his ability to push forward and provide a target was very noticeable. He has good skills and makes the right decisions. A lot of his team mates good play was a direct result of the quality of delivery young Wallis provided. He does some very nice things defensively as well and really has that right combination of being an in and under player but also someone who hurts teams with his run and carry.

Liberatore is another hard worker who is a good runner and generally uses the ball well. Loves a scrap and has exceptionally quick hands. Like Wallis he makes good decisions nearly all the time. He's very unassuming in the way that he racks up the stats but he does get a bit of it. I couldn't really fault his game today.

Some other players for the Cannons:
Melksham - after a couple of impressive games he had a quiet one today and just couldn't get in to the game.
Carlisle - performed well and shut down Griffiths until Griffiths injured himself.
Mitchell is one of those players that teases the supporters with a mixture of exciting play with a few errors thrown in.
Temel was quiet when compared to the previous weeks but actually did some nice things. Marking is his greatest strength.

The Ranges would be very disappointed in their play today.
Gysberts did well however, he is a bit one paced to become an AFL standard midfielder.
Mirra is a great mover but his skill level can let him down.
Moore disappointed just a bit but probably beat his opponents.

Dandenong were very impressive today and Geelong were really no match.
Rohan was once again quiet and had a poor Finals series.

Thanks GVGjr, much appreciated. The boys stocks keep rising which is great. If they keep improving and developing as they are, it will be the steal of the century to get them for picks 30ish and 50ish. I hope they do it again next week.

Does this prove that this draft is quite shallow with two underage players starring consistently? Great news with the compromised drafts coming up

The draft isn't deep on star players but I still think there is value to be found in the later rounds.

Where is the Grand Final to be held? I'm in Melbourne next weekend and would love to get along to watch our two boys.

Thanks GVGjr, I think my plane gets in at about 10 on Friday night though, so I'll have to settle with footage from the game which I assume will be televised like last year.

We will need to check that. I think the plan was to televise it.

If I wasn't so flattened by Friday night's result, I may have tried to swindle a half day from work to catch the TAC Cup GF.

Alas, I'll watch the replay when I get home.

Mitch Wallis got talked up on Future Stars today, and they showed a small package of him hitting up long targets on both feet. Enough to make you drool.

All good news, but if he improves again which you think he will, could we be looking at a first round Draft Pick?
With the new teams coming in the AFL should revert back to the old format when it comes to Father Son selections.
More of an In Bruges guy?

I think we should resign ourselves to the fact that our first round pick will be used on Wallis.

It'd be great if the AFL reverted back to the old system as it would benefit us in the short term, but the system is fairer now.

At the end of the day, we're guaranteed 2 very good kids in a compromised draft. Other clubs should be so lucky.

I would think his progress has even suprised those at the club, since the thoughts on here early this year was he'd be a 2nd -3rd rounder.

PS - hopefully your new signature is reality.
