"Superdrafts" aren't what the first round is worth, its what you can pick up later.

    17. James Kelly
    19. Jason Gram
    21. Matt Maguire
    22. Mark Seaby
    24. Steve Johnson
    32. Campbell Brown
    33. David Rodan
    36. Sam Mitchell
    37. Leigh Montagna
    38. Ashley Hansen
    40. Gary Ablett, Jr. (F/S)
    46. Jarrad Waite (F/S)
    47. Andrew Welsh
    55. Brad Miller
    56. Paul Medhurst
    58. Dane Swan
    60. Adam Schneider
    63. Adam Houlihan
    71. Brian Harris/Lake

Fair list of good - gun players, esp. in the 3rd round.

Just to compare here is 2002 after pick 15

    19. Troy Selwood
    20. Will Minson
    23. Tom Lonergan
    26. Jared Rivers
    30. Daniel Merrett
    34. Sean Dempster (F/S)
    36. Tim Callan (F/S)
    37. Brent Staker
    40. Jobe Watson (F/S)
    42. Brett Ebert (F/S)
    44. Anthony Corrie
    45. Kade Simpson
    46. Leigh Fisher
    53. Adam Selwood
    56. Robert Shirley
    64. Nick Malceski
    65. Lochlan Veale
    72. Brad Fisher

I know which list I'd prefer. One has 6 or 7 AA, the other I don't think has any.

Perhaps... but I would think in the popular perception this gives one a deep draft not necessarily a super one which according to the scribes and talent blotters they reserve for a draft with a heap of up front talent rather than a draft full of hidden gems.

They have yet to recognise this phenomenon let alone give it a name as I would think it is anti axiomatic to the group think and bogus criteria they employ when determining such matters; hidden gems prove their judgements wrong.

Disagree entirely. Every draft is considered strong in the first round.

Geelong did fantastically out of that draft.
Yet we managed to get Brian at pick 71 and nothing else?

Funny to see Ash Hansen there. When you think of this guy you think he's a young player who has battles injuries and now struggling to find a spot in the WCE. Steve Johnson was in the same draft and has won 2 premierships and is a gun, but you wouldn't think these 2 players were from the same draft.
