If we cant get Black or someone of that athletic tall lot then load up on the double barrels

      Jasper McMillian-Pittard
      Trent Dennis-Lane

Cant see us recycling with our 3rd or 4th pick if we take one - surely, we must let a new recruiter have a few stabs late to see if his hunches are right

Yes your right, I don't know anybody in WA and have only seen a highlights package. Last year I heard good things about Ballantyne and Anthony, this year I haven't really heard anything much about Trent Dennis Lane which is why I asked. It's nice to know you rate him

Unless we are running the ruler over him again do you know if Rocket has changed his mind on Thorp being a 'dickhead'?
Regardless if Thorps better than other late picks (and I'm sure that he is) it would be a fair old back-flip if we were to draft him I would have thought.

I don't know if he has changed his mind, but he'll at least sit down & interview him.

Hopefully another meeting will just confirm Rockets original thoughts. I'd be disappointed if we added him to the team given we had such strong views about his character.

                Interesting whichever way it goes.

Is Thorpe going to be a better player than a late pick?

Has being delisted changed his mindset?

Can our leadership group change him?

                    Re: Bulldog Draft Countdown

The Bulldogs will have to wait and see a bit - 15 is a tricky spot in the draft. Right now they would be trying to suss out who the other clubs are picking as someone they rate highly might get through and be too good to pass up. Some of the names I've heard thrown around are Jasper McMillan-Pittard (don't think he'll be there), Andrew Moore (same) and Ben Griffiths. I think he'd be a great pick as he is a bigger, more powerful type forward than both Grant and even Boumann and, with Barry Hall coming in, they can afford to give him time to get his body right and develop. If one of the good midfielders - say Kane Lucas - slips, then they'd have to look very hard at him too. Brad Sheppard is another big chance.

Hi Paul. Griffiths is one of the most fascinating players in the draft. On talent he looks a first round pick given everyone would love a big key forward but his injuries make things interesting. He's having a shoulder reconstruction this week. The recruiters will be trying to figure out with the help of their medical staff how his body will hold up long-term, which obviously is difficult to predict. They'll also be looking pretty hard at his character - if he does take a year to get his body right, how will he cope with that? And is the club in a position where they can carry him on their list for a while and allow him to get himself right a la North and Robbie Tarrant? I think the Bulldogs are a chance to pick him first round, but after that he could go anywhere from the start of the second round through to their second choice at 31.

These are Emma Quayle's thoughts on who we might pick up in the draft on the Real Footy Blog. It sounds like there is a bit of talent there but we'll just have to wait and see who is still around at 15.

In another live blog, Scott Clayton said this:

"Plenty of interest in my top 10 so I'll finish with the 15 players, in no particular order, who I think the top 10 will come from:

Jack Trengove, Tom Scully, Dustin Martin, Anthony Morabito, Ben Cunnington, Gary Rohan, Lewis Jetta, Jake Melksham, John Butcher, Andrew Moore, Daniel Talia, Aaron Black, Jasper McMillan-Pittard, Brad Sheppard and Kane Lucas.

They are all worthy top 10 selections. Good luck to all the boys hoping to get an opportunity on Thursday night. "

While he said it was in no particular order, it's clear that there is a bit of an order going there, and who's number 15? Kane Lucas. Just thought that was interesting, as every player in Clayton's "no particular order" list translates very well with what Emma said in her blog.

                        Nice find Scorlibo.

Definitely looks like the order to me. Lucas has dropped significantly in the last couple of weeks. His kicking isn't a real strength ala Tapscott but I would have thought it's still quite good? In today's modern game, kicking skills are an absolute must though so any kind of concerns the recruiters have will see them slide.

Yes, great find. Interesting that Clayton has said there are 15 players worthy of going in the top 10.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

I had a chuckle to myself, I was following the Clayton Blog, and thought I'd have a dig, said my name was Rodney Eade and told him to keep his filthy GCFC hands of any of our WB stars. Funnily enough it didnt make the cut and show up on the blog.

I don't suppose Scotty offered up a smokey that he first saw up on the Gold Coast playing backyard cricket but appeared to have a tremendous upside who no doubt would have been a first rounder next year?
