    Cash Converters - 2010

Last year we started a thread using the Cash Converters theme of finding unloved or surplus players from other clubs that might be a good fit for us.
This can also incorporate players in the State League competitions that might be making some AFL standard progress.

To kick it off I'll go with Matt Little and Peter Faulks from Williamstown as players that we might be able to acquire at the draft table and come in and play a role for us.
Callum Sinclair from Port is a guy that showed a bit on the weekend and must have some sides interested.

Is their any players struggling at other clubs that you think could add some value if we were to trade for them what would we need to give up?

      Gavin Urquhart?

Has only played 8 games this year, has some toe & kicks the ball beautifully. I think he would be a good get.

With the GC and the limited choices come draft time it could be slim pickings. Little would be good and also maybe a project type from outside football due to salary concessions.
I might even think that a trip to America to get a big African American that maybe already playing some AFL. They're built like brick sh##houses.

FWIW, I think the Lions love him more than he does with them.

I wouldn't mind seeing Grossman do the preseason with us to see if we can improve his kicking to the point we could put him on the rookie list, his pace is absolutely electrifying.

Risky Tellies belong in Cash Converters but not Rischitelli. He is too upmaket for Cash Converters, more like Dick Smith Electronics.

Last year I floated the idea of going with Peake and everyone pointed and laughed. Not sure if his time at the Saints this year has made my call look any better.

I would have thought that you would be used to that by now.

I think his kicking is beyond repair. His balance and drop are horrible, especially when he's running which is a shame because, as you said, his pace is blistering.

Is Matt Campbell from North worth a look?

He's a bit laconic in a Hill kind of way, but is very quick and is clever around the goals.

I'd be looking at a 'will o the wisp' forward pocket. Nathan Djekurra at Geelong is supposedly looking to be traded.

I think a bit of how Geelong will approach Trade Week depends on whether Gary Ablett heads North. If he does, Geelong could well look at trading Djekkura for an established player. If Ablett remains they will tight salary cap wise & may prefer a draft pick in return.

Yeah, I think I agree, hence my ''not sure if my call looks better" line.

I to was a Schultz fan & would of liked him with us. i like players that can kick and thats why i don't like Peake and someone like Walker from the blues who might be up for trade.
