He seems to be Woosha's "Everitt" - ie: the last one selected and the first one dropped. Guys like Brown, Mackenzie and Jones, even total duds like Beau Wilkes, have been given more opportunities down back. He only starts to get an uninterrupted run at it late in seasons for some reason.

Spangher has more mobility than Mitch Brown IMO - the knee reco certainly hasn't helped Brown in this regard.

Beau Dowler ended up in Box Hill Ressies. Does anyone think he would be worth considering? I know he played some good games last year for Hawthorn when Franklin was out.

He has been ruined IMO at Carlton being used in negating roles when his strength as a junior and at the start of his career was being an more attacking outside running player(his kicking can let him down at times though). His shoulders aren't a problem anymore either as they have been tightened and according to him they are indestructible now.
No way, the boy can't kick and thats enough for me not to go near him. If we are going to trade Everitt to Carlton i'd rather go for someone like Gartlett.

Fair enough, but your not going to get Gartlett with Everitt.

Would you say Gartlett has more currency?

The blues need a big man like skinny and we need a crumber and generally big blokes are worth more. I don't think it will get done but its one I wouldn't be disappointed in.

                    No.

I'd say Garlett is one of the few players they wouldn't trade. He's had a very good year.

I would be happy with that as well, but Gartlett has just got a new two year deal, has been playing well lately and I couldn't see the Blues getting rid of him. Sadly Everitt has major deficiencies (he's not instinctive and he is an outside player trapped in a key positions body IMO) and unless we add a draft pick to him we wont be getting that much for him, IMO anyway.

He has had a good year and he is a better player than I first thought. The only reason I threw his name up is because they have 3 quick smalls up there and nobody to bring it down to them. They need a couple of good tall players if they are going to take any further steps next year and Gartlett would be a player that cost them nothing and would be a very valuable trading chip.

                        Its just a thought.

We'd struggle to get Garlett with Everitt and a 2nd round pick. Everitt is tall not big.

I'd be happy to try and trade Everitt for Alwyn Davey but I think the last thing Essendon need is a tall midfielder who's not overly quick, that's half their list.

If his value is that low I'd rather keep him.

Josh Smith (195cm 105kg) of Nth Melbourne has been delisted. At 24yo, he has done nothing at senior level to suggest he will improve. I saw him get BOG in a grand final for North Ballarat at Etihad in 2008.
Might be given another chance. Could be one player to look at, is more mobile than Markovic.

Warren Benjamin is another who recorded one of the fastest times of the 2008 draftees. He is a tough inside player at 187cm and 85kg's according to the AFL prospectus.
Neither of the 2 are anything to get overly excited about, yet again which delisted players are?
