I think it's a solid draft but light on for the players with star potential. I think the are bother top 10 picks or in a real strong draft perhaps to 15.

We won't get anything for Harbrow this year. 2011 will be a difficult draft for clubs so yes it's not going to get a lot better in the short term.

Am I wrong in thinking that even if we did get another first round/early second round selection, our second father son would just move up and take that spot, so our first 'live' pick would just be the pick we would currently be using on Libba?

      e.g. (I can't remember the numbers)
      Currently: 17 = Wallis; 40 = Libba

      IF we draft in say, pick 10: 10 = Wallis; 17 = Libba; 40 = live pick.

F/S is done before trade week starts so the picks we are going to use are set in stone before we do any trading or receiving of picks.

Our picks are currently(if we finish 4th) 22(Wallis), 39(Liberatore), 56, 73, 90 and so on(if clubs bid like we know they will).

Does anyone know the dates for trade week? I have search but can't find anything.

I think we should take a key back with our third pick and then use our 4th or 5th on a little goal sneak/speedy crumber as you can usually pick them up late in the draft.

            This is from Bomberblitz

Wallis probably the standout for Calder. Dogs have a good one there - we might even consider bidding on him. Great size, hard in close but able to run and link up. I like his footy brain too - was very noticable at the 3/4 time huddle, after Geelong had gotten a bit of a run-on in the 3rd quarter, that the coach went straight to him, pulled him aside, and actually asked his opinion on what had happened and how Calder should fix it. Very impressive kid.

Libba was good below the packs. Not sure what his pace or kicking penetration are like, but he does seem to know his limitations and work within them. The weather suited his style of football down to the ground, and he was very handy

Dalrymple said both would have been top 30 in last year's draft, so I assume both have moved up the rankings somewhat.

Wasn't Wallis nominated at 8 on TV a few weeks back? TAC Future Stars or something similar? In any case it sounds like we are getting absolute bargains for what would be a 2nd & 3rd round pick in an uncompromised draft.

I rate Harper and Smedts very highly, would love to get one of those two. Atley would be nice but he could go high in top 10.

Foj1 on BF who's opinion I rate very highly, rates Libba at 10 and Wallis at 13. Most seem to rate them around the 10-20 mark though and Wallis higher then Libba (me included).

Kevin Sheehan i think rated Wallis somewhere between 10-20 and Liba around the 20-40.

I might be wrong as this was a while ago on the radio, but i would think it's still fairly accurate.

While Mitch and Tom are quality players, neither are lightning fast with penetrating kicks. Those types tend to go first.

I'm not sure where they're rated amongst the draft crop, but I would have thought that Libba would be more highly rated than Wallis? That's not a knock on Wallis, but Libba is just the perfect clearance player, reminds me of Sam Mitchell or Lenny Hayes.

I know someone who works on the recruiting staff of another AFL club and he told me we were getting an absolute steal with both, and that both would easily be first round picks.
