    Half Time

    Willy: 11.5.71

    Sandi: 8.5.53

Goals: Barlow 3, Panos 2, Tutt, Reid, Cordy, Davies,Goodes, Johnson
Best Players: DJ, Dahlhaus, Davies, Barlow

Panos created a good option across half forward and kicked a nice goal

Dahlhaus brilliant work in close, for those going to watch the replay look at his effort in the forward 50 at the 30min mark of the second qtr, gifted Panos a goal.

Have really liked Mulligans closing speed and spoils in that qtr.

Lake off the ground and into the room late in the second qtr, Mitch Hahn off injured half way throught that qtr didn't look serious (possible corky).

Mitch Hahn out for the day, haven't mentioned what the issue is. Willy clearly missing him across half forward.

Lake gone forward, two strong contested marks for 1 goal and 1 on the full

Willy kicking away, a very good thrid qtr.

          Williamstown 17.9.111
          Sandringham 9.7.61

Goals: Barlow 3, Panos 3,Goodes 3, Lake 2 Tutt, Reid, Cordy, Davies,Johnson, Dahlhaus

DJ and Dahlhaus continue to impress. Lake forward is dominating although his kicking for goal approach and action is horrible.

Some very good ball use by Hargrave that qtr, he has got better as the game has contiuned.

Panos has given something across half forward kicking a nice goal that qtr.

Addison very solid all day so far.

            Final
            Williamstown 21.13. 139
            Sandringham 16.8.104

            Goals:Goodes 5 Panos 4 Barlow 3, Dahlhaus 2, Lake 2 Tutt, Reid, Cordy, Davies,Johnson, Reid

Best Players: DJ, Dahlhaus, Addison, Panos, Reid and Goodes

Very even performance could have been 10 or so players in the best.

            Bulldogs Players Performances
DJ: Best on ground, really good ball use and great attack on the footy. Was prominent all day.

Addison: Excellent all day, really plays well at this level.

Dahlhaus: An absolute beauty this kid, extracts the footy very well and generally uses it well. Forward pressure and play in the second qtr was a highlight.

Tutt: Played a good game on the wing, thought his ball use by foot was very good. Does drift in and out of the game but overall a very good performance.

Panos: Very good across half forward, took some strong marks on the lead and kicked very nicely. Took his chances, and kicked 4 good goals.

Mulligans: Beat his opponent, some good spoils, not many possies but competed well.

Roughy: Ruck work was good and took some nice marks. Copped a massive spray from German a qtr time, responded well and was the best ruckman on the ground.

Cordy: Mostly unsighted, kicked a goal in the first qtr but that was about all.

Hooper: Quiet most of the day, some good forward pressure efforts although he gave away too many free
            kicks.

Hargrave: Got better as the game went on, showed his class on many occasions. Got through unscathed.

Lake: Did enough, still looks underdone. Needs a few more weeks at Willy, took some strong marks in the forward line and kicked a couple.

Reid: Did a shut down job really well. Tackles extremely hard and was in the bests, thought his ball use was very good. Went off hurt late, suggestion it may have been his groin.

Schofield: Played well in the first qtr, tired late but thought he was solid. Runs really hard and is hard as nails. Gave a great spray to a Sandi bloke during a qtr time scuffle.

Wish his body would hold up, could be anything.

Geez we've got a gem in Doll House.

Dylan was BOG today IMO. Thought he was really good today and after the Bulldogs effort today he may squeak into the team. DJ was also very good and will be pushing for selection.

I like Mulligan as a defender. He's not pretty but gets the job done. I guess Tom Williams could be a chance to miss after today with his ankle so Mulligan could be in the mix as a replacement.

                Reid is a tank!

Played a shut down role and did it very well. Maybe he is trying to re-invent himself? It looked minor bu i know he has had issues with his groins in the past.

Can anyone confirm that lake went off with an injury?

There was talk at half time that he may be injured. He palyed after half time with a heavily strapped right knee and went forward.

Phil Cleary interviewed him after the game, in which he said he was sore but nothing to worry about. Was happy with the run and thinks he needs a few weeks at that level

Thought Lake looked good when Forward, showed more enthusiasm
Hargrave looked a class above ( might be back next week)
Dollhouse first time view, he'll be elevated loved his second efforts ( that smother which set up Panos was exceptional)
Tutt liked his run and pace off half back
Mulligan thought he showed a bit at Chb.
Cordy needs to impose himself more on the game, basically needs to string games together.
Reid the usual Sam Reid tackling machine game( looked like a groin)
Barlow's a solid citizen at this level, as is Addison
Schofield thought he was a little quiet.
                          Roughy had a solid hitout

Didn't see the game yesterday, but this morning the Willi boys were doing their recovery at the pool I swim at every day. Caught Shaggy on the way in and stopped him to ask how he had come through his first game. He was more than happy to have a chat with me, even showed me his scar on his foot (umm, big scar!). Said he had got through without too much soreness, certainly no swelling on the ankle/foot. Said that they had played well and then gave up a lot of their lead "we kind of took the foot off the pedal". Made mention of the Bulldogs and he said...."yeah, we can't seem to score goals when it really matters". Master of the understatement, our Shaggy! Seems to be a lovely guy though!
