Bourke politely mentioned something about Lake losing track of his opponent at times and Lake was very 'because this and that' in the resulting convo. It wasn't in a rude tone at all, he just seems to have the "West-Dog vibe" of trying to explain things rationally but being misunderstood . If someone else was in the quarter time huddle, please feel free to correct me if I misheard/exaggerated it.
From the reports I heard it was considered a solid hitout for Brian and that he is still about two weeks away from being reassessed , Hall is also thought to be another week away despite also having a solid hitout

IMO its is time to see what Cordy can do.
Certainly could do no worse than most players today.
He has been withn us a couple of years and whe might be one of these players who just might step up in the seniors.

He's played injured over the last two seasons, and still was able to put on a clinic. It's unfair to hint that he isn't mentally tough, or that he's selfish. He might just be sick of feeling sore, waking up unable to walk/move etc.

Plus, he's got a life (and family?) to think about AFTER football. Running your body into the ground is great for the club and supporters, but what about yourself ten or twenty years down the track?

        I hold nothing against Brian.
        He's getting paid $400,000 a year. That's $400,000

For that sort of money, I expect him to play through a bit of pain. I also expect him to work his arse off to get fit. I also expect him to play with absolute commitment to the cause, whether that be the Western Bullsogs or Williamstown.

If he wants to play hardball at the the contract negotiation table then I expect him to present himself 100% and to perform to the absolute peak of his ability every week, every day and every minute

Then he will deserve his $400,000

I'll be astounded if hall doesn't play next week. I've no idea how we'll balance the side but he's bound to play. If Hawthorn have a weakness to be exploited, it's key defenders.
Can't see Brian playing unless he has a ripper on the training track.

If he is still underdone, Hawthorn is not the opponent to be easing back into AFL form and fitness.

The worst part is that he generally plays well on Buddy.

I think someone needs to ask Lake if he wants to play, then check he understands what it means. All we need is another player not putting in.
