I stood next to him the other day and there's no muscle definition on either Roughead or Cordy. Roughead naturally has a more athletic shape and wider shoulders but neither look strong enough to play that role.

Why is it that apart from Will Minson, none of our young self-developed key forwards/rucks seem to get any size on them? I know they tell us they have put on weight, and several have had major injuries to shoulders but i would of thought they would be more developed by now.

    eg: Roughead, Cordy, Jones, Grant,
Agree, you only needed to look at Franklin and Jarryd Roughead as 20-21 year olds compared to the group you listed. For years we heard that our players were always underdeveloped because we couldn't afford decent gym equipment, now we've got a state of the art setup and nothing's changed.

I remember W Skipper used to give a friend of mine his gym supplements because he didn't like the taste of them. They might need to swap brands

Are you sure you weren't taking them yourself?

Because Will Minson is actually a Bison.

I have seen Cordy in the flesh twice this year, and while I was only in the stands, I was impressed by the development of his body since last season.

He has put on bulk and is well ahead of Roughead in that regard. He has also shown enough strength to hold his ground in the ruckman wrestles on both occasions. These areas are where Roughead needs more development.

Cordy does not need any more bulk, but he does need to learn how to use the bulk he is now carrying, but he is coming along well.

I think i remember Cam Wight putting a fair amount of bulk on towards the end after starting off like Cordy.

Good question. I think it is at least partly due to Clayton's selection philosophies. He seems to not really rate having a naturally strong build highly. It seems like he thinks the small builds will slip down and the club can always work on making them bigger. He seems the classic recruiter who doesn't like the big kid who beats up on smaller guys because they don't have much room for development but I think he is the unhealthy extreme.
