I'm not sold on him but he showed a fair bit today and it was a good sign that he was able to work into the game after sitting on duck eggs at half time.
Don't know them but he had 0 tackles.

This reeks of the kid at Auskick who gets the coaches award for trying hard but never actually gets the ball

        He had 3 tackles.

If he can kick two goals a week run and chase and harrass, I would be happy.

I think SS is referring to his half time stats. I was about to write him off (especially as I had traded him in to my SC team as low priced coverage) but was pretty impressed with his ability to worj hard and get himself involved in the second half.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

As I don't have Foxtel, can anyone tell me about Mitch Wallis - did he play as I can't seem to find anyone mentioning him? Perhaps I've missed that he is injured???

No, he had the week off. I believe he was in Noosa.

Seagulls make history in Semi-Final Win

Williamstown has become the first team to make the inaugural Foxtel Cup Grand Final by beating East Perth by 71 points at Etihad Stadium on Saturday. The Royals were no match for the slick Seagulls who blitzed the visitors in the first half kicking 10 goals to 1. It was an impressive opening from the home side who found Etihad Stadium to their liking with lots of run and carry.

With the Seagulls yet to have a week off in Season 2011 the Gulls used this match as an opportunity to rest regular players such as Ed Carr, Ben Jolley, Mathew Grossman and Dane Rampe. This opened up the door for Stephen McCallum and Nick Walters to make their Senior debut, while Matthew Cravino was rewarded for his sensational form at the Development level with his first Senior game of 2011.

With the reduced quarters in these Foxtel Cup games it was imperative that the Gulls came out of the blocks hard and that’s exactly what they did kicking 6 goals to none in the first quarter to stamp their authority on the game. Dylan Addison, Brett Johnson and Ben Davies were instrumental early winning the midfield battle and providing drive up forward. Addison in particular was pivotal in shutting down the dangerous Garry Moss whilst winning plenty of football himself. Will Minson was proving a handful up forward for the visiting side while Patrick Veszpremi was looking dangerous every time he got the footy as the Gulls shot out to a 38 point lead at quarter time.

The second quarter started in similar fashion to the first with the Gulls piling on the first four goals of the term. Patrick Veszpremi was in scintillating form kicking 3 goals in the first half on his way to 4 majors for the game. Down back James Mulligan, Matthew Panos and Phil Smith were holding the fort defensively. A late East Perth goal reduced the margin to 58 points at the main change.

Senior Coach Peter German urged his players not to drop off after half time and continue on the good work from the first half. It was a much more spirited East Perth side that came out after half time with the visitors desperate to put up a good showing. A much more competitive second half followed but it was still the Seagulls constant tackling pressure that allowed them to resume control of the match. The promoted trio of Nick Walters, Steve McCallum and Matthew Cravino all showed their wares which augers well for the Seagulls depth come the business end of the season.

The strong clearance work of Tom Liberatore once again allowed the Gulls first use of the football as they kicked another 6 goals after half time to run out convincing 71 point winners and became the first side to get a place in the Foxtel Cup Grand Final.

The Gulls will now play the winner of Claremont and Port Adelaide with the game to be played on the 6th of August to decide the best team outside of the AFL.

                    Williamstown 6.4 10.5 13.5 16.7 (103)
                    East Perth 0.2 1.3 2.7 4.8 (32)

Goals: Veszpremi 4, Cravino 2, Minson 2, Goodes 2 Addison, Johnson, Hahn, Howard, Tutt, Johannisen

Best: Addison, Davies, Johnson, Veszpremi, Liberatore, Minson
