Here's some photos off the balcony tonight. At the rate the development is progressing I'd be amazed if Willi got on before the halfway mark of the season.

Thanks for the pics stache, it's a lovely view you have there from your balcony on a warm summer's night.

Any idea what they are building there on the road side of the picture?

Which is also not a bad thing in itself. I'm he's learned something from playing in defence last year and in my opinion he improved leaps and bounds after his stint in defence where it looked like he was done for.

Drove past last night and thought the same thing. Most work looks to have been done on the new cricket nets - Should come in handy around May

Not sure what they're doing, they leveled the whole area when building the cricket nets, so potentially nothing other than some garden area or a viewing hill to stand on.

It's not actually my place, my Dad lives there. I used to live next door, but he can safely assume I'll be there regularly when the Williamstown winter weather kicks in.

Go past the ground often, and it just looks like they've just gutted the inside of the old stand.
They've moved the nets out of the wind and put new ones up

                  Seagulls Fly South to Tasmania

Williamstown Football Club will again head interstate for its annual pre-season camp after the success of last year’s trip to Perth. On the 9 th of February the Seagulls will be flying down to Tasmania to stay at the Burnie Football Club where coach Peter German begun his coaching career in 1995. Last year the Seagulls spent 5 days in Perth with the Subiaco Football Club with Williamstown Football Manager Chris Dixon saying it was the success of the Perth trip that ensured the Club headed interstate again.

“We couldn’t have been happier with how it panned out last year. We achieved a number of goals in terms of fitness, match practice, learning sessions and of course team bonding. The players thoroughly enjoyed it and the whole coaching staff found it extremely beneficial. It was an easy decision to head interstate again this year.”

A number of activities are planned for the 4 day Tasmania adventure including a training session at AFL venue Aurora Stadium (York Park), a hike through the Tasmanian wilderness, a surf lifesaving carnival as well as numerous learning sessions. Once again Williamstown will have their first competitive hit-out for the year with a 60 minute scratch match against the Burnie Dockers. The game will be 4 x 15 minute quarters with most players expected to be involved at some stage. Dixon said the game will be a good chance to see the new Seagulls faces in competitive action for the first time.

“Obviously the game has very little meaning but it’s a good chance for a lot of the younger and new players to start staking a claim. There are probably only two or three guys who will be unavailable to play which is a good sign heading into the season. “

“Speaking to Burnie I know they are looking forward to having a hit-out against us as they make their debut in the Foxtel Cup this season. They see it as a good learning experience for them to come up against a Victorian side as they face Werribee in the first round.”

Dixon also stated the Club was overwhelmed by the assistance and support that Burnie were providing.

“It’s great that we have the opportunity to come down and stay with the Dockers for the four days, we certainly appreciate the support and hope one day we’ll be able to reciprocate the favour if they ever want to venture up to Melbourne.”
