Cordy clearly deserves a spot but it would be a big call to play all 3 big men. We will need every bit of run and carry against one of the hardest running teams in the competition. Also going in too top heavy up forward will be a field day for the likes of Fisher and Gilbert if our poor delivery inside 50 continues next week.
The Herald Sun is saying that Gilbee's injury will be career ending ... Anyone have more info about this ??
They only saying that based on his age , his form over the last 12 months and the fact that he was on crutches and is going to have a scan , its not actually based on any factual information
I wish Slicer all best when he does have the scan though
Thanks for the write up GVG, not a great result but some positives from the Dogs point of view.
Personally I'd like to see Cordy get a call up, leave Minson out, and have Roughead do 60-65% of the ruckwork and rotate with Cordy. Minson's not going to get much better and it's time to make the call on him. Give Roughead and Cordy the respsonsibility and see if they can develop together as a partnership.
Minson can rotate with Campbell/Hill depending on availability.

I was at the Supermarket yesterday and Gilbee walked straight pass me, wearing his track suit and looking fit and ready to go. Hopefully he doesn't end his career like this.

They probably need to drop Redpath to make that happen. Panos needs to be adaptable so I don't mind him being moved around.
Why can't Redpath be more adaptable then? Panos played back in a fair few games last season as well. I recall he played terrific in a couple of them. I'd rather them focus on developing is game as a forward now.

With Austin back and with Roberts and Talia I don't know how they could squeeze Redapth into a defenders role. Plus he hasn't played that well. I think Panos to the forward line means Redpath to the development team. If Campbell is back next week Hill might struggle to hold his spot despite kicking 4 goals yesterday. We are top heavy for talls and they might need to take a turn in the reserves.

I know what you are saying GVG I just don't agree with Panos playing back to squeeze another player into the team. Panos will play AFL as our FF more sooner than later and I'd rather they focus on using his time in the VFL at that position. If that means Redpath, Hill or Campbell has to go back to the development team, so be it. There time will come if they're good enough.

What makes you so sure he will be our FF sooner rather than later?
Perhaps they have decided Panos doesn't have enough tricks up his sleeve to be a FF, but he still could be a very handy 2nd string defender.

Something to do with the amount of goals he kicked at the end of last season. Didn't he have some ridiculous amount in the last 7 - 8 games. He was elevated from the rookie list because of that and was selected as an emergency in round 1. That tells me he can't be to far away.
We continue to struggle developing KPP's especially forwards Panos seems like a natural forward to me, I wish they would use his development him as one.
