I hope we stick with Hill as a forward and support ruckman. He was very good last week and good again this week.
Johannisen made some errors but I like the dash he provides and he's a neat kick of the footy. With his pace I think he can transition to a small forward role somewhere down the track. He can improve some of his defensive work
Campbell gets a lot of hit outs but they aren't as effective as they should be. A player of the future though.
Hill did look promising, as did Campbell but it was really Johannisen that caught me eye. I was impressed with what I saw of him late last year. He is just such a super kick of the footy and seems to make good decisions with the ball in hand.
That said I have only seen the first half at this stage.
JJ earning himself another development year at least on the back of those performances.
Very happy with Wallis' game
Sherman can find the ball but often tries to do too much with it
Hill looks promising, liked his game
Skinner was terrible
Talia took a really nice grab up the ground from out of position
Fletcher Roberts is worth watching too
I totally agree with you and it frustrates me no end. Having ego is often a good attribute of a successful player, but when it controls your actions as it does in Sherman's case it's bad. Some dumb guys are really smart footballers, Sherman isn't.
Sherman has always been a rubbish decision maker throughout his career. Pace is one thing, but if it isn't accompanied by good decisions it's not much value.
After tonights performance with the Seniors , well if we want to make some changes for the game next week, particularly with the forward line , lets be honest we just don,t have three or four players in good form pushing for selection
The match committee for the Dogs is going to burn the midnight oil thats for sure
I've almost given up on Sherman. I wished we used the draft pick and saved the money. How long do we have him for?
Whilst I think it was a bad choice on our behalf to basically swap Harbrow for Sherman we simply need to make the most of it. I would look hard at adding him to the Bulldogs and really putting the acid test on him to perform as a senior player. If he fails with us I doubt another club would be interested in him so he needs to be made aware of that. He's on a good contract but might have to take a decent cut if he doesn't get back on track.

So roughly how much coin is he on and how long has he got? I agree we need to make the most out of him while he's here but he's not a player I'd be desperate to sign up when his contract runs out.

I'd say over 350K. I would think he has another season as a contracted player.

I would give anything to have that pick back for this years draft.
A stupid stupid decision.
Brisbane gor Ryan Lester with that pick - looks a decent prospect. We could have also banked the pick and used it a year or two later.
Sydney offered pick 22 for Sherman - we should have just let them take it. Anyway he's ours now, and there's absolutely no point in having him languishing in the VFL for the next couple of seasons. Ditto Vesz.
I watched the first half of this game. Wallis was working hard and trying to do the right things - and probably could have had a fair few more possies in the first half, if teammates had spotted him in space in the corridor (he was asked about this in teh half time interview also).
Sherman was pretty busy.
Tutt kicked a nice long goal.
Tom Hill looks talented, moves quite well.
Was a very windy day - so skills were pretty poor.

Ozza, could you tell me us a bit more about Tom Hill's performance? Interested.

He's tall - 199cm - and still skinny, but presented well. He took 4-5 'uncontested' marks as a lead up target and maybe two contested marks (predominately by outstretching smaller opponents). He also a couple of defensive marks across half back.
He wouldn't have a lot more possessions other than those from marks, I'll guess and say he had 16 touches, 9 marks and 3 goals - a good days work.
