Jong looks a good pick up, for a kid with limited football experience he's already having a big impact at VFL level. I would think he'd be ahead of where the club expected him to be.

Agreed.
He is very hard, good when the ball is in the air and has a bit of pace. I think he is a good decision maker with his hands but struggles with he needs to use his foot skills. Still, definitely a great start for a project rookie pick.

His marking is good as well. To me he is a bit like Mitch Hahn with his skills. It will take a while but he is worth keeping on the list.

Couldn't get out for the game. For anyone at the game today, how did you see both Talia and Pearce's games ?
Pearce didn't play from what I could see.
Talia was solid down back, seems like a bit of a general down there. He played within his limitations and mainly hit up high % short kicks. He's destined for a good AFL career IMO.
Hooper really disappointed me today. He looks like a guy that knows he's on a knife edge and just went ball chasing to impress the higher ups. His skills by hand were sub standard and tried to be too cute by foot. Hate saying it, but his AFL career seems over.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

3rd tall defenders need to be able to take the game on when needed and my only knock on Talia at the moment is that he is far better suited to switching play rather than creating it.
Hargrave can run and carry the ball down the field and drive it long with his kicking but Talia's first thoughts are about moving the ball sideways.
He's young, tough and dedicated but we must look at ways of improving his offensive approach from the back line.
