Williamstown lose by 5-6 goals. Couldn't get a run on in the last, with the experience of Port holding up in the end.

If Panos was relying on today to stay in the AFL he has not got much hope, but Roberts and Talia are certainties to get longer contracts.

Bad luck to Willy. Port Melbourne are a very good team and are hard to beat. They of course had the perfect season last year going undefeated.

            Attended today
            Impressed with Talia and Roberts
            Hill and Panos weren't prominent.

Difficult for both sides in this arrangement.

Thought Hill took some nice marks but needed to get more involved. I can't remember Panos actually having a kick, incredibly quiet.

At one stage in the game Peter Donegan mentioned big changes at williamstown over next year is that a direct link to us going alone, has anyone heard anything about this since earlier in the year?

Thought Roberts showed excellent forward nous and body positioning in contests. Can take a grab and is a reasonably nice kick. Pace might be an issue but he certainly looks a talent. He was definitely the Bulldogs plus out of the game. We may have quite a bit to thank Jayden Schofield for.

Did Roberts play forward? He seems like a smart, hard working footballer from the little I've seen of him. Is a permanent move forward in his future?

I watched a replay today and yes he was up forward. I think he will be a forward either next year or beyond.

Agree, I like the way he uses his body one on one, very Barry Hall like and is also good overhead.
I am unsure on his ability to lead into space and gain a yard on his opponent. Does he have the tank to lead repeatedly until the kicker honors his lead?
                          Can anyone shed some light?

I doubt he currently has a big tank especially given the focus on building his size.
His draft camp results from 12 months back with his endurance weren't impressive. His repeat sprints were really bad and his 3km performance was 11.38.
As a comparison Michael Talia did 10.53.

Mate of mine ( reasonably good source) reckons 2014 we'll be flying solo.

I thought Talia played a very good game, as did Roberts. Of the other Bulldogs listed players, all were very quiet.
