Feel for Sheed with his injury but did his chances for a top 10 pick no harm today.

Second game has started slowly, SA dominate but missed a few easy shots. Harvey and Hourigan look good tall prospects for SA.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

SA very impressive . Darcy Hourigan ( needs to lose a few kilos)
Luke Reynolds also very impressive. Aish quiet, so far. I think SA are going to get a lot of players drafted.

Far better 3rd quarter. The better known player started to get ball. SA are a very good side

If anything it improves his stock because now he's only shown his best and doesn't have to perform to that standard for he whole carnival.

Who's stood out in the Metro v SA game? In all likelihood, the player we pick first will be from this game.

Scharenberg, Billings and Kelly have all stood out. All worth considering at our first pick.

Made me laugh the WA coach using "Ross Lyon " zoning tactics, according to Pickering.

The commentary was quite enjoyable today I thought. He was also a big fan of the one-mississippi-two-mississippi call too

Yes agree, loved Clem's attack on the player and ball. The two Macs were impressive, but gee the WA kid had one awful ball drop. The ball was swinging around like a pendulum

Vic Metro still alive despite loss - by Emma Quayle

South Australia is well placed to win its first under-18 title, after holding on for a three-point win over Vic Metro in Friday's second-last round of games.
The South Australians must beat Western Australia on Wednesday to go through undefeated, having accounted for Vic Country in their opening-round match.
WA could also take the title with a win over SA, but the West Australians must complete their competition without captain Dom Sheed, who broke his collarbone in the final two minutes of his team's after-the-siren win over Vic Country in Geelong.
Sheed had compiled 29 possessions, kicked four goals and managed 10 score involvements before teammate Cameron McCarthy kicked his third goal on the final siren for WA to grab a three-point win.

Despite its loss, Metro is also still in with a chance to win the title, which would be its third in a row. That will happen should WA beat SA and Metro topple Country, given Metro beat the West Australians in their game two weeks ago.

Josh Kelly continued his excellent carnival for Metro, with a hard-running, high-possession game and last-quarter goal, while Jack Billings played his best game of the carnival at half-forward, having struggled with knee soreness in earlier games.
Christian Salem did well to limit star South Australian James Aish through the midfield, with Matt Scharenberg the pick of the South Australians playing across half-back, Luke Dunstan impressive and bulky forward Darcy Hourigan kicking three goals.

Patrick McCartin, eligible for the 2014 draft, kicked five goals for Country, with onballers Billy Hartung, Zac Merrett and Nick Holman also impressive.

So from the games last Friday, from a midfield/interchangable HB,HF, i was really impressed with Sheed from the WA Vs VC game. Real shame that he sufferdd a color bone injury very late in the game, but his perfomance has surely locked him into a top 5-8 pick. He's ready made with great skills, pace and ability to find the ball.

Reserve my judgement for Matt Crouch as he's coming back from injury. Took him a while to get into the game.

                          ----------------

Patrick McCartin looks a certain top first rounder for the next draft as he's under age. His postioning and ability to take one grab and contested marks were a class above the rest of his side. He was pitted against Alir Alir who is very raw.

                          ----------------

He's a big boy. Under-ager at 17 and a bit. Diabetic. HS had an article about him a few days back.

He'd be in demand next year surely if he keeps his form up form last week.
