Re: Footscray Bulldogs it is !!
Wouldn't exactly be through the city,
just a long parade down Footscray Road.
Starting at the ground, head up Barkly Street, then turn down Whitehall St and onto Napier, then onto Footscray Road, all the way through to Harbour Esplanade and on to the ground.
Google Maps says its an hour and 20 minutes by foot. If we were to leave WO at 4.30 even the stragglers would surely be inside the ground at 7pm for a 7.40 start.Comment

Although if we didn't get the VFL match on the same day as the AFL match we could do a roam through the city to Etihad as TD said. Where would you meet.Wouldn't exactly be through the city,

Re: Footscray Bulldogs it is !!
I would start it in Footscray irrespective of the VFL, that would just be an added bonus.Comment

Re: Footscray Bulldogs it is !!
I wonder what the situation will be re: catering at the ground. The Pound will make a killing you'd think. Maybe they could get some of the food trucks that are always at Gamon St and Yarraville Gardens. White Guy and Dos Diablos. Festival vibe at the footy.Time and Tide Waits For No ManComment

Re: Footscray Bulldogs it is !!
Ive heard some say that parking is an issue outside the Whitten Oval. I'd say as this is just the Footscray VFL team playing there it shouldn't be too much of a problem."Footscray people are incredible people; so humble. I'm just so happy - ecstatic"Comment

Re: Footscray Bulldogs it is !!
If you think about it, currently the entrance to the club is where the pound is. You wouldn't want people streaming into that area for a match, dodging tables etc. I would envisage that the pound would be turned into the match day function room and entrance to the ground would be another way. Therefore, food outlets would need to be set up. Your idea of Food Vans, would be the best way to solve it. This also means a toilet block will have to be built somewhere as well as the current toilets would not be adequate for match day crowds.FFC: Established 1883

Re: Footscray Bulldogs it is !!
The other thing I'd like would be a V.I.P package where you can watch from up on the balcony in the new building, food/drink package and table and chairs up there. The top balcony would be a great place to watch footy from.Time and Tide Waits For No ManComment

Re: Footscray Bulldogs it is !!
So the membership details for next season have started coming out.
The VFL team option (for this season) is a voluntary donation to be used as captial works to get the ground up to VFL standard.
The option e.g. on mine was $2 p/m on auto-Bulldog for Life - they're also combining the membership payments into ten months - not 12 months. This may be a funding problem for some people but that's another discussion.
The VFL voluntary options were:
$20 per adult
$10 concessiion
$20 per family (assume family of four?)
You can also donate amounts just like the Bulldoxe the Debt campaign.
FWIW members WILL get entry for free to VFL Bulldogs games as far as i read - this is simply a donation/capital funds fund.Comment
