    Playing List 2014

Firstly, excuse my lack of knowledge on how a club is setup within the VFL.

How is the list going to be built? Are we going to see 10 Bulldogs listed players through this team on a weekly basis? Restrictions on how many Dogs-Listed can play like there currently is at Williamstown?

Will we recruit other players from VFL clubs? As well as players from other football leagues?

Every Bulldog player available for selection will play. If we had a full list available that would be the entire team, but in the real world that won't happen. We'll have some senior VFL players on contracts with a list of top up options from local leagues. We'll probably play a 23rd man from the TAC cup from time to time as well I'd expect.

One player I'd like to see us target is Anastasio from Williamstown. It'd be good to have a year to watch him closely and see if we think he could make the step up to AFL level. He's really quick, clever, and can kick a goal but is absolutely tiny.

Alexx- the reason we have set up this side is so all bulldog listed player will be playing at the highest level possible if they are not in the AFL team.

We will most likely need around 20 players who are not bulldog listed, to help ensure we have a full list from week to week. These will include some players brought in from the WRFL, a few guys with senior afl/VFL experience.

The club will be doing a truckload of work to ensure we get this right. Bmac has some experience down at Geelong when they built their VFL list so we have the right people around to ensure we get this right.

Not sure how he hasn't ended up in the Bay on a few of the windy gamedays down at Gellibrand

Will Footscray have a Reserve team ?
Assuming we will have a couple of players over each week, where will they end up playing ?
Do they go to Willy reserves or possibly a WDRFL side ?

Can't see how we would target additional VFL players as they will be secondary to the AFL listed players.

The only Williamstown player we are likely to bring is Prismall. He is on the Bulldog payroll having taken the job previously held by Brett Goodes.

We will certainly need top-up players and these will possibly come from local leagues. They are unlikely to be any quality Williamstown players. Those top-up players would go back to their local teams when not required.

We may look at a delisted AFL player as team captain, much like Geelong have done with Troy Selwood.

Markovic, would be a likely candidate for that role.

                That is my expectation.

Marko was a good VFL captain at Box Hill, so I wouldn't complain if he took that role if delisted.

We won't run a team in the development league. None of the AFL standalone teams do.

I dare say that any players not required would be playing for their suburban league teams.

Be great to watch the reserves, just like the old days. You can see who is developing and who isn't and almost all Bulldogs players get to play on the weekend.

No, we will essential still have the same number of players on our list as this season.

So why are the dogs in talks with the WRFL
If we have 20 injuries does Footscray play short?
