So with the Footscray players all being given high numbers I presume the AFL listed players will wear the same number whether playing AFL or VFL? Eg Jarrad Grant will wear No. 1 whether he is playing for Footscray or the Western Bulldogs?
The benefit of your own VFL team, that is, tall bulldogs all playing and in key positions. I hope by seasons end the extra experience is seen.

Apologies if this is a silly question, but will Footscray have a reserves squad? If not what will happen to the blokes that get squeezed out each week (there are 21 on that list and I am guessing around another 20 that will be available from the Afl squad.

No reserves. The players that don't get a game in the seniors will be free to play local footy.

No they won't have a reserves side.

Didn't think of that. Should we have aligned with another VFL side for the VFL reserves?
I imagine the bean counters would have said we wouldn't get a return on investment when we can contract some guys who can play with us or the local league. That's my guess anyhoo.

I don't think so.
All the Bulldog players will play seniors, regardless of form. As for the Footscray listed players who might miss out if we have minimal injuries, in the nicest possible way, who cares.

Spoke to a bloke who I'm doing a course with who has just started (about 2 months ago) with Footscray.
His name is Sam Boyd. He has taken Jesse Fortune's spot on the list. Apparently Jesse is talented but not committed.
Plays as a CHB. He can't see himself getting a game this year but he's hopeful.
Do they still run the sit around, drink coffee, eat doughnuts and talk shit course? I did it twice and dux'd it both times, sat a top my resume it did.

Actually our fill ins for footscray have been very good. Had the Hayes twins play on the weekend and a few others I've seen, a Todd Finko showed a bittoo, but the club seems to give them a couple of games then use others .. I'm not sure how the rules apply for fill ins.
