Bonts is an A grader if I have ever seen one.

We still seriously lack players that can kick a football.

Could Koby be a defensive forward?

His pressure is good and not being in links of play to hospital hand pass might be an idea. His kicking for goal looks good, 3 goals in 10 minutes.

I'd like to see him spend more time up there. Always dangerous with his overhead ability.

Bonts, Grant, Smith & Koby all looking for promotion. This good stuff to watch.

He has been played forward a bit already with a lot of success. Good on the lead, good at finding space, good mark, good shot at goal. I like him there, gives us more flexibility than Dickson & Gia. Only thing is when Clay Smith & Jarrad Grant come back, if Dahlhaus, Hunter & Stevens are all forward, then we're too small. Clay is a step above Koby in defensive pressure
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

I often read about how our AFL side must play the youngsters as it's the only way to develop them. I'm having a good look at this game and I firmly believe that the development of players can occur playing for Footscray.

Right at this stage of his career does getting 20 touches in a half playing for Footscray really stymie the development of Bontempelli compared to him being on the bench for the seniors?

I'm really pleased with the development of our players and I hope during the season when players are being dropped back to Footscray it isn't always seen as a negative.

It's a selection dilemma for sure. But Dickson and Gia are forced out by Grant and Koby. Smith and Bonts put pressure on the midfield spots and also Wallis, I think Boyd needs to keep performing to keep his spot to keep these three 1st rounders out. Hrovat might be contending with Hunter, but I'd like to see them both in.

Wasn't a bad effort from Howard - outside 50, on the boundary, to perfect position at the top of the square for Stevens to mark and kick his 3rd. - Perhaps it was just a fluke.

Think Cordy has been pretty good through the 1st half.

We are doing very well in the ruck and the commentators are talking up how good Holmes has been in the last few. Suggesting he did very well against Tom Bellchambers last week. Campbell and Cordy are well on top.

Cordy could easily have 3 goals by now. Twice looked to handball it off when he could easily have turned around and kicked the goal. Still, it would be nice to se him use his height to take a few grabs.

Terrific first half. Bont, Smith and Stevens in particular.

Grant looks like he will need at least 2 or 3 at VFL level before being ready.

Smith is a beast, and Bontempelli so clean and clever. Good to watch.
