Fiver plus a red white and blue mankini, then I'm your man!

Was a really tough win...great contest around the footy, defence held firm and didn't let very much past them, while our talls (Campbell in particular) offered the targets up forward.

7 in a row and we just knocked off the top team and form side In the comp in consecutive weeks.

      The hatrick is on!
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Go Dogs! The Footscray VFL team has been a huge plus for us in season 2014.

Without knowing all that much about the VFL comp as a whole, I would think that we are a legitimate flag chance? A lot of guys playing seniors who will be eligible come finals time...

Campbell the only one who stood out that could come in next week. Goodes was probably BOG but I don't see him being able to play the same role in the seniors. Tom Young also played his role but not knocking the door down.

JJ, Talia, Redpath, Cordy didn't really make or lose any ground in my estimations of them.

Howard was Howard, Prudden showed a bit but won't play seniors for a while (fumbly, skills not great when he did get the chance to use it), Greenwood does not show me anything that suggests he should stay on the list, Tom Williams could have had less than 5 disposals for the match.

Thanks Jazz. I'll differ a bit on Cordy. Thought he did well in the conditions. As a back up ruck man I'm okay with him being on the list. He has improved this year

Thanks for all the updates, I suppose it was ideal conditions for Goodes.

                        It's good to hear.

In previous times there's indifferent reports on either Cordy or Campbell coming out of each VFL game, but it seems the latter has played a very solid game while the former has been a good contributor this week and this has been a consistent theme over the past couple of months or so.

Will's slowing down and can't be expected to do the work he has in the seniors forever (last year's effort from his was monumental and ultimately not sustainable) so it's great to know both Campbell and Cordy are putting consistent good football together.

I'd like to see Campbell get a decent run in the last ten rounds, and Cordy should get some games too just to gauge his improvement.

If we pull the hat trick off, we should be promoted to the AFL and have two teams there.

Dogs win, 6.15.51 to 2.10.22. Low score yet a percentage booster, 230%.

It makes perfect sense to me.

GWS can play in the VFL until it wins a hat trick of premierships.

A quick summary for the players today

Prudden - Started as a half forward but also spent time in the middle. Competes hard but had the attack of the fumbles a couple of times. Below average game

Howard - At times looked pretty good and put in a couple of hard tackling efforts. Defensively he was solid enough and his kicking was okay but this wasn't a game that puts him back into contention for a recall to the senior side.

Young - Solid game by Young who was rarely beaten. He used the ball very well given the conditions and did a bit of the grunt work with some strong tackling. Far better player when he looks to create play and today he did that.

Greenwood - I thought the conditions might have suited him today but he was pretty quiet.

Fuller - Did okay against his opponent but nothing special on the day.

Johannisen - In and out of the game. Kicked a goal in the last quarter. Must be close to a recall to the senior side.

Redpath - Conditions did not suit him and had to push a long way up the ground to get into the game. Some good marks but he was quiet. Missed a very gettable goal.

Goodes - I thought he was the best player on the ground. 4 quarter effort and two telling goals. Played mainly as a midfielder.

Campbell - Encouraging game today and allowing for the conditions it's maybe the best game I have seen him play. Took a number of pack marks and kicked a goal. Very competitive effort and he's ready to play in the senior. His mobility has improved since last season.

Jong - Not huge numbers but he put in a solid effort. Two terrific interceptions and a couple of nice dashes down the ground. Like many others his skill level wasn't great.

Cordy - Campbell was the best big man on the ground but Cordy was also noticeable especially allowing for the conditions.

Williams - Didn't do a lot other than in the first quarter. Maybe he just needed a run after a few weeks out of the game.

Talia - Made a few judgement errors and got out marked in a couple of occasions but stood up when the Roosters were mounting a challenge. Just not doing enough to earn a promotion.

                              Hope I didn't miss anyone.

Nice summary G. I wasn't saying that Cordy had a bad game, just that he didn't really sway me one way or the other based on today's effort. I only remember one contested mark, plus 2-3 times where he did provide a strong aerial contest and bring the ball to ground. Admittedly not his conditions, but didn't have any real impact for mine.
