I read it as him saying McCartin is better than the GWS kids. "The others all played a lot of ruck as a junior" gives it away, he wouldn't have said it like that about players that are still juniors

You're right. Geez a nice replacement for Rievoldt. Just in time. Brilliant.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Got this from Knightmare (BF's most respected draft watcher) re. McKenzie

Got some tape of his better games - seen too many of his sub parr games and have now assessed his numbers more closely and taken in the way his game is rapidly developing in a similar way to Bontempelli last year.

He's got the height/size/athletic ability and right mix of attributes. I'm happy to adjust my initial evaluation and there are always a few I do so with this time every year.

McKenzie is looking like a genuine top 10 quality pick to me now after comparing his game to those other likely top picks. Really liking his scope to develop into a monster at the next level.

Like the sound of that. Doubt he'll be around at our Pick 2.

Wonder if we're looking at Jake Lever ( rebounding key back and good reader of the play by all accounts)

Was it a Port player that told the drafters that they shouldn't pick him because as soon as his contract is up he would leave.
Maybe his attitude has changed how recruiter go about their business. Get in the ear of a future star make him want to go to your club and fend of the opposition.
Your top 10 will usually get a gig if they rock up to a club and said they want to play, it's further down the rung that you grab what you can and hope you get drafted.

Supposedly that was Wingard to GWS. He said something along the lines that being in a start up club wasn't for him and he'd most likely look to go back to Adelaide (city) after 2 years.

That would mean our first two picks fit that category. I can't see other clubs letting us snare Zaine with our third rounder.

The BFGN phantom last night had Zaine going to North at 32, i.e. the WB coach declined to select him at 42 with our 3rd round pick after the North coach nominated him with his 2nd rounder at 32.

There hasn't been a lot of that with F/S, but I wonder for a player that is possibly outside the top 30 where the bargain factor isn't as significant whether another club may see more value in him than we would, particularly if we're eyeing off Lever at 5

There is nothing more certain than Zaine coming to us. He's a gem and at 42 we would be laughing, at 24 it's pricey, but I like him more and more every time I see him, and my sources in the Falcons Squad think it too. Zaine's grown up around the squads with Macca and Macca's brother around the place giving assistance. Mark Zaine down as a dead certainty as a WBFC recruit.
