    Re: The Recruit

None of them for me. None of the players screamed out, all of them run of the mill. If they were any good and after two years of compromised drafts you would have thought one may have got on a list. As for the players that haven't played much footy you could find more athletic projects out there.

Looks like Geelong have picked up the Irishman:

Padraig Lucey to join Geelong’s rookie list despite being cut from hit reality footy show The Recruit

Johann Wagner edges out Bradie Foster, Chris Moreland to win The Recruit, set for Port Adelaide

No great surprise with the favourite winning. Had the choice of GWS, Gold Coast and Port Adelaide - was a no-brainer for him as a South Australian Port supporter that he chose the Power. Will be interesting to see how he goes.

Not sure where he will fit in that team, can see a year or two at the Port Magpies and then fading away. But good luck to him.

It would have been interesting to see who voted for who.

It seems clubs weren't particularly interested in the whole concept.

A fatal flaw with the whole concept. It's unlikely in this day and age that any park footballers would somehow be missed until their early - mid 20's. The Irish bloke being signed aside, i'm not sure what any of them offer. The AFL sides selection criteria can't be that different. Wagner loved Port, therefore they were always going to make this a mrketign opportunity. Likewise GC and GWS.

If they saw upside to the big fella then they would have nominated him to win. They went for best talent, but not AFL talent.

The show's value was in exposing what players actually have to go through on an AFL list.
