The ball was hacked out of the midfield at the centre square bounce with a mid air soccer kick that then resulted in another goal. 30 seconds later the siren went. The Falcons supporters were beside themselves. I wandered out of the ground at quarter time of the next game to stretch the legs and noticed Cordy walking towards me. You could just see the disappointment on his face.
Thanks G. Sounds awful from a Falcons viewpoint, but 'good' to see winning means a lot to Zaine in a sense. I guess that's sport and life, and they've got next week to make up for it. Looking at Calder's margin it's a brave punter to bet against them.

Anyone going along today? I'm hoping to make the early game.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Cracking day at Visy, Dandy have the lead at qtr time.

Zaine has been quiet, his man kicked one early running onto a spillage and snapping a nice goal.

Goddard took a strong defensive mark early.

Lamb has been busy and has some impressive attributes.

Impressed with Kershaw too, tough player.

          2.3.15 - Geelong
          6.3.39 - Dandy

Tom Lamb had a few contests right in front of me in the second, he's been the most impressive for me today with his abilities which will transition to senior AFL footy.

Dale from Dandy has a nice kick on him.

Agree Griff. Goddard does some nice things but he has gotten lazy with his kicking and is lobbing his oases more rather than kicking through them. Cordy is trying to spoil everything even when he I'd clearly in the best position to mark.
Maishmain looks very good at reading the play

Stringrays look too organized at the moment and deserve their lead. Falcons miss McCartin and haven't got a good avenue to goal. Goddard moved to the forward linne

He has ability but I don't rate him highly. Just seems to be a lazy footballer.

Yep, agree on Goddard. Great below his knees for a big man but his kicking is too untidy.

I'm not blown away by Zaine and hope we can land him in the third round (however unlikely that may be). He's a good size, but I'm not sure what his spot will be at AFL level. He's not quick or mobile enough for medium sized players with zip and agility and probably not going to develop into true KP size.

Lamb had one lazy effort letting his man take what ended up an uncontested mark in the F50 but his repeat efforts in the contest on the Falcons left half forward flank was impressive. He reads the play well and his disposal is sound. Without knowing much about him on ability I back him in to be a long term player.

                Also agree on Maishman.

Dandy running away with it now.

Lonie must have kicked at least 4. Reminds me of Ballantyne.

Lonie is a class above. Great skills and good through traffic. At 174cm it might be a struggle for him at the next level but he has the ability.

Took a great mark too. I'd take him.

Surprisingly Zaine named in the bests, not how I would have seen it today.

Lonie ended up with 5 goals in the early game, solid performance. I was happy to see Dale get a mention in the bests for Dandy too - looks a good footballer to me.

I couldn't stay for the later game, but looks like Sandy had a big last quarter to make it through. Should be a couple of good games next week.

Overall I was disappointed in the standard of the games today. Not as many AFL standard players as I was hoping for

Cordy looked better in the forward line today

A dubious rising star winner only extends 173cm from the ground, there is hope for the lad yet!
