So because Melbourne because are a squeaky wheel they get a PP and our is effectively draft pick devalued by going down one spot. But because Essendon were penalised and go straight to the end of the first round the teams that finished above Essendon on the ladder the top clubs get a premium effectively all going up one spot in the draft.

Melbourne did not receive a priority pick, it was FA compo, albeit an over-compensation! Doesn't really fuss me about the Essendon thing it hasn't affected us and is really tough on them, good result IMO!

Do you see Marchbank falling that low? Thought having both Menadue and Ellis was a stretch, but it's a chance. Don't know anything of McKenzie, haven't seen him. Maynard is a bull and while i don't mind McGuiness he has that Tassie stigma about him whereby he's played at a lower division and state league and is a taller player. Development-wise he may be further behind than most equivalents.

I think Keitel will develop nicely and would have included him but for the WA factor.

Marchbank has been injured so you never know. Outside chance at best. Menadue should go around 20 and Ellis despite being a classy type has been inconsistent and injured. He is a good chance to be available. Maynard probably won't be available

McKenzie and Boyd would be an interesting combination. Cockatoo will be going early. I cant seem him getting into the 2nd round.
I'm not sure Viojo-Rainbow would be in the mix. His sprints at the combine were in the bottom 20%, bottom 35% for the agility test and average in most other tests.

I would have been more interested in him before getting Boyd but I still can't see a reason not to select him as he tested well with his pace in the combine. I actually like the other McKenzie as well.

D. Macenzie did well at combine as well didn't he? He plays one of the positions needed too. I'd like a tall defender and running player combo in the twenties. Have you seen much of McDonald for a KPD? As far as positions go, a genuine KPD, running type and Zaine is covering the bases well I think heading into 39-46.

You have to feel for Simon Dalrymple, the mans gone from holding the keys to the city, to waiting in line at the soup kitchen! If he can muster even one really good kid from those picks he has done extremely well.

i thought we may have packaged up some picks to go higher up the order, but we actually probably need to get numbers in due to the exodus. What happens with Tutt now? Will he go to the PSD or stay at the dogs? Will we have him back?

Tutt needs to make the call if he wants to stay. The Dogs then need to make the call if they want him. I suspect he will be the first player Carlton call as the pre season draft.

I don't feel sorry for Dalrymple, he has 3 x 2nd round picks (2 of them early) and 2 x 3rd early round picks in what is a reasonably strong draft. This is the type of challenge that a good recruiting manage should thrive in.

I think the pressure would be on the recruiting managers that have just 1 first and second round picks.
