Does anyone have any knowledge about who our recruiters/list managers may be short-listing or taking a particular interest in?
Based on our drafting history anyone who wasn't in the mix at the start of the year but keeps getting better as the season gets later (ie. Macrae, Bontempelli, R.Smith etc.), smart effective footballers that are undervalued because of one deficiency that other clubs place more importance on than we do (ie. Daniel, Hrovat, C.Smith). Also, I would imagine we would still largely follow the BMac model of "men of good character" model.
Bailey Williams is an interesting one. I've known Bailey since he was a little fella. He's shot up a lot in the last year and is having a stellar last month or two of footy, on the wing. Is reasonably well built for his age and a good height. His old man is an ex heavy weight boxer and rugby player and is a massive unit. Bailey spent about a month in the glenelg reserves side, then dropped back to the eighteens where he had 56 (yes, 56) possessions at a high disposal accuracy rate, numerous tackles and a goal. Also got high in the best players on the weekend just gone as well

BRENTON Phillips expects AFL clubs will be “scrambling to get as much information as possible” about Bailey Williams after the Glenelg ball magnet amassed 56 disposals in a game.
Williams, 17, has been invited to test for AFL recruiters at the state screening in October but has barely rated a mention among SA’s draft hopefuls.
That was until his performance for the Tigers’ under-18s against Woodville-West Torrens on July 25 – believed to be a record for most disposals in that competition.
“You have that sort of day and everyone sees he’s been invited to the state screening so now they’d be scrambling to get as much information about him as possible,” says Phillips, the state under-18s coach.
“He’s got a really good work ethic and works from contest to contest, which allows him to get that sort of possession rate.
“I haven’t seen too many over the 50 mark and 56 is a big day’s work.”
Williams, of Sheidow Park, is a self-described underdog.
The 185cm midfielder has never played state junior football, did not consider reaching the AFL a realistic possibility until this season, and was surprised to receive a state screening invitation.
Williams says he “just felt on” against the Eagles – a game the Tigers lost by 91 points – when he smashed his previous career-best disposal count of 34.
“I’ve just aimed to make the (Glenelg) squad each year but this year I’ve really hit some form,” Williams says.
“At the start of the year I didn’t have much confidence in myself, now I back myself in.”
Williams says he ran up to 5km most nights before pre-season began to improve his endurance. The Brighton High student has been in the best for Glenelg’s under-18s six times this year and also played six reserves games.
His dream is to be drafted.
“It’d be awesome.
“I’m a bit of an underdog ... but I want to show people that I’m good enough.”
I doubt Aaron Francis will last all the way to the Dogs, but he is a gun. The above is from a League match vs CDFC on the weekend.
From Glenelg, I expect that Matt Allen, (power forward, has been siggestions that he could play as a midfielder, had to choose between cricket and footy) Mason Redman (slick outside player, good size, good skills, plenty of dash) and maybe big Tim Sullivan (ruckman who did his ACL at the start of the year) will be under strong consideration .

Old mate Jason McCartney at the Glenelg match again tonight....
Mason Redman played his first League Game last night, did reasonably well. Spent some time on "the Recruit" Joey Wagner and beat Wagner. (Wagner has done stuff all this year)
Sorry T&T but after the 'Howard decision', having our list management team scouting anywhere near Glenelg gives me the heebie jeebies.
ok, i'll bite...
