I think it needs to be acknowledged there's plenty of people who live within a fair walking distance of the Yarraville village who would like to be able to pack the kids into the car or whatever and do a quick spot of shopping, without paying for parking within their own local village shopping area.

To suggest the only people complaining are shop keeps from out of the area wanting to attract the hipster crowd is probably a bit much. When you have kids and need things done quickly, or need to duck into the shops of an evening on the way home from work or whatever craft workshop you've attended during the day, it's not a stretch to think you'd like to be able to do so without having to feed the meter.

Rate payers in Hobson's Bay get a parking permit, does this not happen with the Maribyrnong City Council ?
If not it would solve one of the arguments.

Council aren't really interested in solving the problem. They had the perfect opportunity to do that on Monday night. Footscray hates Yarraville is the real problem here.

But we have permit areas in Maribyrnong. No idea how you get a permit or what streets qualify though.

Mate, I have 4 viable charcoal chicken options in my area, three within walking distance. The best of them all (cnr of Orong and Glen Huntly roads) isn't.

If I was to nominate a fast food weakness and or perversion, it would be fried chips wrapped in chicken skin.

Listening to the councillors on 774, they are really pig headed about the whole situation. Yarraville Village must be one of the only shopping areas outside the CBD where there are parking meters. Go down to High st Armadale, or Chapel st or many other strips, and there are no meters at all, however, there are lots of other off street parking available. The council needs to present an alternative to shoppers and not just give a flat no to the business owners.

I shit a lot. TBH I have never tried to lose weight in my life, never been on a diet or anything I just find it really hard to put weight on.

I don't drink sugary drinks, Think that's the trick. I don't drink anything but water and tea really. Maybe a soft drink a couple of times a year but it's not like I make a conscious effort to avoid booze or the sugary drinks-I have no will power at all so it's probably good that I don't crave those sorts of things. It's bad enough with the cravings that I do get.

There's no need for parking meters to keep the poor folks away in those areas BAD, the shops are expensive enough to act as a deterrent.

That's the thing about the Yarraville issue, the local shop keeps know hipsters are inherently tight in the arse and will find another area to infest in lieu of not wanting to pay for parking.
