I'm really so glad that this is trending. I've never been a massive fan of Prince, however I've never doubted his pedigree as a musician. He was one of those rare breeds of great multi-instrumentalists. Not just competent, but downright blessed with rude skills on a range of instruments. MJ was a fraud in musical terms. Yes he could sing and dance, but a musician he was not, a complete lightweight.

Not strictly true, while he was no virtuoso he could play. Just wasn't his focus, so he brought in others.
