I sleep in stages mate, it's fairly common for blokes my age. I sleep for 2 hours and I'm wide awake for 30 minutes, then I go back to sleep for 2-3 hours and about 4-4.30 I'm wide awake again for 30 minutes then I sleep for another couple of hours and that's it I'm up for the day. It doesn't matter how early or late I go to sleep, where I sleep or who I sleep with. That's just how I sleep.

Try to ride 100km a week on my bike. Usually commute to work once a week and a big ride on Sundays.

Ice Hockey training and a game every week between October and March. A bit quiet in between seasons, sometimes power skating lessons and the odd fun run.

I need to drop 15-20kgs but have been battling a bit due to lifestyle, poor diet, negative self talk etc.

A mate of mine has had huge success in getting a lot fitter and losing weight and it's all to do with 2 or 3 sessions per week on a trampoline. He's lost 5cm off his waist (at least) and toned right up. He also does 2 long walks each week (1 hour plus) and uses some exercise bands and weights each morning.

In all seriousness can you go on a diet where you gain weight? I'm sitting on 53 kilos at the moment. Even allowing for the fact I am that as mad as a March hare tgat ain't good for a 53 yo bloke (OK, I love he fact that I am the same age and weight, but that's more my stupid overly competitive nature kicking in I think. Nobody else is the same age and weight, I WIN THE CONTEST!!!!!

The guy at the chemist told me that calories are better than protein for gaining weight. Does that sound right?

You got me interested, so I looked this up

Overeating makes you gain weight. ... "However, consuming more calories from protein results in lean muscle mass gain instead of your body storing those excess calories as fat." lean muscle mass actually weighs THREE times more than body fat.

According to that if I force feed myself meat with huge globs of protein powder jammed into it then I should look like Arnie in a couple of months.

I have walked over 10,000 steps the last 2 days.

This thread has inspired me cheers comrade

If you walk between 7,500-9,999 steps a day you are somewhat active. Below 7,500 steps low active.
