Wow not a take I'd expect from you.

If only there was some kind of readily available photographic evidence showing the water being held back from the natural flood plain and thus forced to find its way into different areas.

It's just a shame, what with the internet that we've got today, that one couldn't just type "racecourse flood wall" into Google and get instant results that show the flood wall stopping the water from flowing onto the flood plain.

Or the photographic evidence of 1000s of houses being built on flood plains, full of concrete and not allowing water to spread or be absorbed into the ground.

The racecourse is over 150 years old and was there before people started building on flood plains.

            Damn that is telling.

But who is to say what the right course of action was? If the wall wasn't build and there were no races what would become of our valuable gambling industry? What damage would those lost gamblers inflict on unsuspecting towns across the nation? Maybe those home owners should have just built their own wall?

Well I suppose that's a matter of opinion I guess. For me, horse racing is a toxic cancer so you can probably guess my thoughts.

This is a weird hill you're choosing to die on.

For fairness sake there's probably some truth to your supposition - but there isn't a continuous block of concrete under the ground that's stopping water from being absorbed.

This is against an actual wall, scientifically designed to keep water off the flood plain. One that they were warned about what the flow on effect would be.

It's ludicrous for you to make your supposition whilst ignoring the actual fact right in front of you.

I respect that you stand your ground but you're being crazy here and I can't work out why.

Because you and others just take what the MSM feed you. There is an enquiry about to happen to see if that wall did contribute to the flooding. I wait there decision.
