I'd be interested to hear how you viewed it.
I finally got to see True Grit over the weekend.

Having not seen the original I went in fresh so to speak. I really enjoyed it, as you say the cast was really strong and played their characters well. I don't agree with your call they spent too much time in some sections, I thought it help build the movie as it went along.

Was it a typical Western? I'm not a western fan as such so I'm not sure.

          I loved Black Swan.

One week after seeing it I was still thinking how good it was and was still wondering what happened!

Natalie Portman's performance was beyond belief. Truly a great acting performance.

I've only seen the first one which I enjoyed. My wife is currently reading the second book, so I have to wait for her to finish before we can watch the next one.

I've seen the first and the second. Greatly enjoyed the first but was greatly disappointed with the second. Felt they really messed up some of the key plot points. Things that the book made work seemed real silly in the movie. Apparently the third movie is an improvement but I'm in no hurry to see it.

Loved the first one, but wasn't as much of a fan of the second, as either a book or movie.

The final book is excellent, but it's very much a courtroom drama so it will be interesting to see how it translates to the screen.

Hoping that The Adjustment Bureau with Matt Damon is good, not much good stuff out at the moment.

I loved True Grit too, but also don't know much about Westerns. I would love to take my daughters to see this just because the character of Mattie Ross was such a strong, smart model of a teenage girl. But the body count is probably a tad too high! Oh well that's the Coen bros for you...

Fair call. Ricky Gervais' Tv shows are excellent. The Office and Extra's are to of the better comedies to have been made. His movie's however get too often caught up in typical hollywood stories of fictional worlds (Ghosttown and a world without lying) and his characters aren't as real as a consequence. The Office and Extras were so great because they were very real, very relateable, and naturally funny. His movie's tend to have more unnaturally set up jokes.

I enjoyed Ricky in The Invention Of Lying, thought it was very original and well done, got quite a few laughs out of a it.

Saw "Battle Los Angeles" last night. It was ok, I wouldn't see it again. Followed the trend of Aliens with awesome technology leaving themselves vulnerable for some stupid reason.

IMO if I was in charge of pretty much any invading Alien force that was featured in a film in the last 10 years the movies wouldn't have ended with good old U.S.A winning.

If you were an alien race with the technology to cross galaxies to invade other planets, wouldn't you just wipe out any indigenous species from orbit?

I saw Conviction the other night. Enjoyed it. I think the fact it was based on a true story (which I made sure I knew nothing about) kept it interesting. Hilary Swank is an amazing actress.

                              Next up is Hall Pass.

There are a lot of options.

When an Alien race has enough time to observe us and plan an attack without us even knowing about them let alone their capabilities, weaknesses and typical strategies of war then they should win every time.
