Saw Animal Kingdom tonight, really good especially for an Australian film. Acting is really good, Ben Mendehlson plays his role really well (as do most of the cast. Frecheville solid in his first major film role as J). Keeps you hooked until the end, plenty of twists and turns. Went with two others, one agreed that it was great whilst another thought it was average. But he has a vendetta against the Australian film industry...
Obviously was more focussed on the fine acting turn he'd have to do in his ice cream commercial.

I saw Animal Kingdom as well and thought it was quite good. Really good cast and it kept my interest the whole way through. It was extremely similar(probably based upon) to the Walsh Street killings and the family responsible for that. It is not a feel good movie, there are not many characters in there that you like or care about. But I guess that can be said about Underbelly, and that rates extremely well.

Saw 'Get him to the greek' on Friday night and loved it.

Being a fan of comedian Russell Brand and Judd Apatow movies does help though..if your not into those kind of movies (Knocked Up, 40 Yr Old Virgin, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) I don't think you would enjoy it..but if you do, def. a recommended must see.

I saw the preview for 'Get Him to the Greek', it looks funny. I've been told I have to watch 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' first though - is it the same characters?

Recommend you see 'ForgettingSarah Marshall' first.
Russell Brands character, Aldous Snow, is the same.
            Jonah Hill's character is different.

I think the best part about this movie was that it really took away the glamour of the hard core crime scene. Sure, they made plenty of money, but they were untrustworthy, paranoid, selfish and opportunistic scumbags, which is far truer to life.

I thought the acting was really good, Ben Mendelsohn was downright disturbing.

I won't say too much more except to say from my experience, the first scene was pretty much spot on.

Saw Get Him To The Greek last night. Hilarious, I cried with laughter when he was having fit in the car and stroking the furry wall and the whole Vegas scene in general. And also the text message. Oh man, just the whole movie was good.

Agree. I tend to think that Underbelly(the television series) glamourises the underworld scene and gangsters whereas the Underbelly books make them out as pathetic and extremely unintelligent.

It always surprises me how people can use movies such as The Godfather, Scarface, Underbelly etc as an inspiration to build their life around. There is no way that these characters should be used as role models.

Absolutely brilliant. It amazes me how flawless Pixar is...not a bad movie in the bunch.

I only saw 2D, interested to hear from someone who saw it in 3D what they think...

Same, we saw the 2D version today ... A lot scarier than the last two (particularly for a 3 year old who thought Woody and Buzz were going to get killed)

The adult humour in this (and previous Pixar movies) is sensational.

Some of the things they do with the toys, the little tricks they give them that a normal toy does actually have but obviously can't use in the same way...awesome.

Was definitely a lot scarier, and sadder. I'm not ashamed to say there were at least two points where I got a bit teary.

Did your kid enjoy it, even with the scary bits? Adults seem to love it, haven't heard anything from a kid though...

I lost it at the scary wall part. Reminded me of when I was loving in London and we went to Ministry of Sound, between the front bar and the main dance floor there's a hallway covered in fur, and yep sure enough there was about a dozen people stroking it. The best part was people would see them and walk past without blinking an eye like it was the most natural thing in the world!
