Or the clowns who never let their dogs socialise with any other dogs so when they do meet they want to rip the other dog's throat out.

Another pet peeve of mine is the voice over people on Channel 10. They both sound like they should be doing after hours, pay by the minute phone calls. I can't press the mute button quick enough.

I'm with the people who get frustrated by slow drivers in the 'fast' lane. I don't speed, but if you're going substantially under the speed limit than ( ) sit in the left lane.

There's a spot on Warrigal Rd, right near Holmesglen, which is a '40' zone from 8-midnight Mon-Sat. I truly can't understand the reasoning for it.

The classic your, you're and their, there, they're annoys me too. And people who steal car parks (Hello lady at the Chadstone car park last week).

Also, I work at a cinema. When I say 'enjoy your movie' and the person says 'you too' it annoys me. I appreciate that they're trying to be nice, but listen to what I say haha. Also when customers refer to staff by their first name, despite not knowing them. I'm not a fan.

And to go with an earlier post requiring gratitude, when I'm in a street with parked cars on both sides, and I let someone through the gap, I expect a courtesy wave. Without a courtesy wave, you are officially a bad person.

My first job was an usher at the local multiplex. We used to have movie marathons that ran until about 3am that would attract many, many bogans so I used to take the name badge off because they'd call you by your first name in that "I'm a douchbag trying to impress my mates" kind of way.

I stopped letting in people for a while because I was never receiving the courtesy wave. I guess that makes me just as bad...

Or swap with a different staff memeber each day. I did that for years and I reckon that people treat you differently depending on what your name is.

Anyway as far as calling staff members by their fist name, I take the opposite view to jazzadogs. I figure if the person has their name displayed and they've been particularly helpful then it's good manners to use their name when thanking them. If they've been curt or unfriendly then I'll give them the "yeah, thanks"
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I dont care so much about the wave but if I dont get a wave back then I'm not happy. It's pefectly simple. They let you in, you give them the cub salute with the top three fingers on the steering wheel and they wave back to show that they understand you are a courteous person.

I was dealing with a real estate agent recently that did something similar.

                        REA: How are you?

                        ME: Good thanks, and you?

                        REA: That's good

He did this EVERY time we spoke - auto pilot wore thin with me very quickly.

At the risk of being howled down, I get annoyed at cyclists on the road. I've lost count of the times I've nearly hit cars in the lane to my right trying to avoid cyclists.

People who don't wave - or at least raise a finger in acknowledgment - when you let them through on a tight street.

Pubs that insist on serving a particular beer in some special glass, when all I want is a pint of which they have plenty of empty and ready for use behind the bar (sorry, we only serve that in these 330 ml glasses......come onnnnnnnn)

Fair call, there are plenty of poop drivers around who would no doubt make life difficult for cyclists trying to do the right thing
