Going to go see Charles Barrington. Came second in the raw comedy final a year or so ago and at only $15 you can't go wrong.

      Here he is:

I went along to Minchin expecting there to be some awesome tricks with a cage at the start...you tricked me good!!

I thought it was very good, but I the music was almost more impressive than the comedy. Having said that, there were the moments of hilarity. He is a very very talented performer.

Got Carl Barron tonight. Should be good. Heard he was excellent last night at the Gala show.

            Re: Comedians

After deliberating for about a month, I've booked:

            - Sammy J and Randy (this evening)
            - Danny Bhoy
            - Kitty Flanagan
            - The Sandman Farewell Show

Hopefully they're all pretty good value, I've only seen Danny Bhoy before so should be interesting.
Wake me up when we get to heaven, let me sleep if we're going to hell

Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath

And we all found heaven - 2016 Premiers!

Mickey - Michael Chamberlain. Has had a bit of TV exposure, incl. as a Comedy Inc cast member.
Friend of a friend so will see him tonight.

Saw him a few times on tv when I used to watch the NRL Footy Show. Love the way he stares at people. Unnerving, yet very funny. How was the show?

What were you thinking, DOTW? Don't you know there's no such thing as a funny woman?

I know you're being facetious ML, however I saw her last year and she was behind only Steven Wright as the funniest live stand up I have seen. Very good show.

Never seen her live, but love her work on GNW and 7pm Project. Very very funny, and I think it's because she doesn't target her comedy towards other females.

                          Re: Comedians

Well, I can report that Sammy J and Randy were very, very funny, and some of the funniest ad-libbing came from their stuff ups (opening night so it wasn't a "watertight show" as yet)! And for those of you who are kids of the late 80s, early 90s, SJ & R managed to work the theme from the TV show "Ship to Shore" into the show. Gold.

My sister was adament that I see Kitty Flanagan with her, and I'm quite looking forward to it. Like Jazzadogs, I like her GNW and 7pm Project work, so hopefully I'll like her stage stuff too.

He was great. Carl does 'observational' humor the best. Very easy to relate to, and his stories from when he was a kid are just brilliant

                              Hi guys

                              New member, blah blah blah.

Anyway last Saturday night I saw a guy called David Quirk at the Portland Hotel. Didn't know anything about him, just a random selection, and I almost rinsed myself in parts. If you grew up in the country, I can recommend it.

Not strictly comedy festival related but...

After filling in some time reading Tony Martin's blog (part of The Scrivener's Fancy), I have discovered Tony was back on the radio (briefly). He's done a show with Angus Sampson, Steve Curry and Sam Pang called The Lonely Hearts Club, which had the tag line "The Lonely Hearts Club is a radio program where men come to talk and women come to find out what, if anything, makes men tick."

It was on Saturday nights on ABC National from 10-12pm, but I've been listening to the podcasts, and it's pretty funny.
