It's pretty ordinary. I had one and felt a bit sick.

I generally find it pretty hard to go past Woolworths when buying wine. aside from Dan's they're way cheaper than anyone else and while I understand the economics behind all of this, it's pretty hard to go against the instinct to save yourself $20-$30 on a half dozen.

As previously noted Cooper Extra Vintage Ale is a top drop. my No. 2

No.1 is Grimbergen Double - Small 330ml bottle and is on a par with C.E.V.Ale but is a little less bitter than C.E.V.Ale can be sometimes.

Recorderlig Pear and Apple tandem is the summer key.

EDIT: Also Ledge, i don't know if you get it, or can get it, but the finest red iv'e had (that's not sky-high in price) is Reschke "Bos" Cab Sav in the 2004. First Choice and Dans sell it for about $35 a go and it's brilliant for a cold night with red meat or even Thai.

Just let you guys know Woolworths owns Dan Murphy, BWS, Safeway Liquor, I have found BWS cheapest all round.
Any of the alcohol you see in these I am involved with
I have found pub drive throughs are a sting, I dont go near them.

IGA is pretty good too (but not one of us)

Recorderlig has heaps of different types of ciders, got told the strawberry one isnt bad.

I will look out for the BOS MRM you wouldnt believe how may different lines of all alcohol there is, as an example we move roughly 200,000 to 300,000 cases a day, I have come to the conclusion Victorians and Tasmanians are alcoholics.

They have had Hoegarten White Beer on special for $10.99 a 4-pack or $48.00 a slab. Great beer at a bargain price.

I'm mostly a cider drinker when at the pub, but will have a few beers now and then. Favourite beers are probably Coopers Pale Ale and James Squires Amber Ale. Didn't mind Mountain Goat or Bright Brewery the once I've tried each of them, and keep meaning to try Holgate (was even in Woodend the other week and still didn't get there!).

In ciders, I will quite happily drink Bulmers, although I'm not a huge fan of their pear cider. I will have a sip of Recorderlig but not much more as I find it too sweet. If I'm in the mood to properly appreciate my drink, I'll have a Monteith or two.

In wine, I really enjoy anything by Tahbilk and Plunketts. If you like sweet wine (I do occassionally), Plunketts 490m Frizzante is really yummy. And both wineries do great food too, I'd get up to both wineries a couple of times a year and come back with a boot full of wine!
Wake me up when we get to heaven, let me sleep if we're going to hell

Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath

And we all found heaven - 2016 Premiers!

He he. We do the same when we take the car to Tasmania - load up with beers that you can't get here (Boags Wizard Smith, Cascade Draught, Moo Brew) and before Cascade stopped making it, Mercury Black Cider (was 8%).

I enjoy light beer. Carlton Draught, Carlton Dry, Heineken, James Boag I like. Corona's I started with but eventually moved on to other type's of beer. Foster's despite being Australian brewed surprisingly is not popular in Australia.

Whiskey (e.g Jim Beam or Jack Daniel's) and Coke Cola mixed together is a good combination.

I think you will mind the majority of Fosters is brewed in the UK.

Cascade make the best beers, IMO. I go absolutely mental each year for their First Harvest — they only brew it one day a year, around about Easter time, and it can be difficult to get a hold of.

Most of the time, I stick to Cascade Pale Ale.

I also like the Mildura Brewery beers. You can get some of them here, but the best you'll need to drive to Mildura for. Honey Wheat is just fantastic.

I'm a member of the Melbourne Beer and Beef Club, which used to be run by CUB, and it surprises me how often I taste the “mystery beer” and think “Wow, this is great!” only to be told it's a staple like VB (no surprises, love VB), Crown, etc. So perhaps a beer is more than taste. Perhaps it depends on your mood and your headspace when you're drinking it.

                              Good thread to bump ED.

I've been getting into the James Squire range, 4 Wives, 150 lashes (I think) and the Golden Ale which is my favourite, incredibly smooth and a pleasant finish.

Had a crack at the IPAs the best I've tried seems to be the Califonian brewed Tower 10 stocked at Dans, good solid brew that one.

Other beers I've really liked over the past six months have been the range from 4 Pines brewery in Manly, very full beers not too aromatic like some of the Mountain Goats, Stone and Woods and Little Creatures are.

Pick of the beers has been Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and the Blue Moon White Beer both from the States. I drank these beers pretty much everyday when I moved to Hawaii on a one year work contract last year. Both beers are about $7.00 a six pack in the States but about $23-25 a six pack here

I'm starting to brew my own beer in the shed now which is a bit easier over Spring when the temperature is a bit more settled. I bought two complete home brew kits on eBay a few months ago and have finally brewed them both, one is a stout and one a red ale. Really enjoy red ales but there are some bad English ones out there.

Stone and wood get a good write up , I'm actually getting into the American honey wild turkey at the moment.
The new keg put out is a great idea but it's a rip Off at $23 for the tap king, I think you have about 5 brews to choose from not sure how long the novelty will Last though.
