What's with the masks, not your standard mob hit dress code, more serial killer/stalker territory.

The mask makes me think the crime might tie into series one and maybe they are chasing the same killer Russ and Marty were chasing. Maybe...
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Re: True Detective spoiler thread. SPOILERS INSIDE

Interesting episode last night, bit of action. Some decent carnage, all though how long did those 'innocent bystanders' take to disperse!. "Hey some machine gun fire from that building and bullets are racing by, let's stand here and watch for a while until someone actually gets shot before we flee in panic into a spray of more bullets!"

And did you notice there was not one call of "Police, put down your guns!" from any of the cops?, in fact they didn't say a word to the assailants. It was all a bit comical.

Frank's story is all a bit confusing as well but I'm guessing it will all make sense eventually.
No doubt the hippie father is involved in some way because his image in is the intro early on, and he's now made a couple of appearances answering questions. I'm guessing all the people in the photo he showed, including himself are involved in some secret mens club like the stonecutters and he's probably the number 1.

The dad takes it back to series one I'm betting. He's involved with that cult.

The end of series one didn't make sense. They shoot one guy and all the crime stops? Right.

Dude the guys where shooting at them with machine guns, pretty sure 'Police, put down your guns!' might have been ignored.

Yep. It didn't work for Billy Rosewood at the end of Beverley Hills Cop either.

The Kevlars with POLICE on the front they were wearing may have given the game away too.

I don't think that's the conclusion you're meant to reach. They exposed the conspiracy and caught their man. They'd solved the murder and the rest was up to (presumably) the feds

                    OK. Makes more sense actually.

                    Much more.

Just started watching this series and it seems like a nowadays version of twin peaks.

There are parts I've seen described as being an attempt at impersonating a Lynch project (esp the dream sequence)

                            Wasn't it ever!

If a little bloke with a walking stick speaking in tongues on a checkered floor appears then that will confirm it.

I'm guessing they pretty much gave away who the masked assailant/s are with that retired cop scene and the 2 kids and the masks reference.

Anyone else see the last episode.

Must say overall this season was a disappointment. Never really connected with the characters or the story,
and the 'i gotta see my kid one last time' was so formulaic and unoriginal it was pathetic.

Oh well, at least there's Mr Robot to fall back on. Nothing much else of interest at the moment.
