Are you suggesting Burns should be dropped for dropping catches at pad bad?

I think that was more nerves than being a poor fielder. And has he ever fielded at bat pad before?

Mine was more of a general observation born of frustration with the decine in fielding standards in the Australian team.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Burns wasn't great during his first stint in there last summer when he spilled a few, it's an error from Lehmann to let him stay there. Voges could be worth a shot if we can find a replacement slip, he has a decent pair of hands and moves well. Mitch Marsh should be transitioned into the cordon with his pair of hands.

We really havent had a long term short leg since Langer was in there

Just on the bat pad position, did anyone hear the discussion between Gerard Whateley and Chris Rogers?

It was an amazing insight into the mindset of a modern day cricketer, especially after the death of Phil Hughes.
No I didn't hear it, could you elaborate on some of the main points?

I rate having someone good in the bat pad position and we have struggled since the Katich departure.

Marsh on a hatrick, NZ 8/243

Edit - didn't get it. McCullum given out but shouldn't have been. Used up DRS for ridicolous reasons, so ran out with his own dismissal.

Yep. My only question is brining in Patto for Lyon and a spinning all rounder for Marsh. But Only because I want to see Patto back, I doubt there's any change after a dominant performance like that.

I thought Lyon was terrific in the second innings. It wasn't a big bag but three vital wickets, the kind of big moment strikes that win games.

Patto was rested from the Victorian Shield game so I'd suggest kid gloves are being used

Nothing against Lyon, I just really want to see Patto back. But that's probably not going to be soon unless injury strikes.

Very good performance, but probably bowled a bit of tripe in patches .

Them losing their frontline bowler probably flattered us a bit too. He may have been able to stem some of the carnage in the second innings.
