Commentators said on many occasions we need an all rounder to balance the team. On that, maybe Mitch Marsh or Nic Maddinson.

Or, we may just keep the team unchanged.

Did the selectors name a 13 man squad for the first 2 Tests, with Sayers and Bird the other squad members? I'd say no change with Khawaja the man under most pressure for the 3rd Test.

I don't see how Maddinson could be considered ahead of Maxwell.

That's correct. Some talk that Cummins could be rested given his injury history to allow Adelaide Oval specialist Sayers to debut.

Got to be Maddinson or Marsh. Maybe even Henriques.

I'd expect Sayers to come in for someone, and the whole test to be over in about 10 sessions. I'm a member at Adelaide Oval, have holidays and hate d/n test cricket

Hey T&T, why do you hate the day/night test matches? I would love to go and watch, for something different.

I'm missing the Adelaide test this year - but have travelled over for it the last 3 years.
As much as the D/N is a good spectacle - I think the majority of our group felt that we preferred the day only test, rather than the day/night.
The conditions just change so dramatically for the evening session - for the players and the fans!

I would like to see Sayers play - but none of the bowlers deserve to lose their spot (and we probably need Starc and Cummins' batting anyway!).

I figured my sarcasm would be evident even mentioning Maddinson. Maxwell probably deserves to be the all rounder if we need one, but I thought Smith's overs were handy enough to not need an all rounder despite the commentary team say so. Although if Khawaja fails a few more times and S. Marsh keeps his spot, there's a case to move S. Marsh up to 3 and bring Maxwell into 6.
