Nothing huge, a close call - but just In terms of sitting/standing there as a fan - it changed from blazing hot for 2 sessions, to cold for the last session of the day.
Plus you're going through to 9 o'clock at night - I think our preference, was to do the days play and then head out for dinner afterwards.

Either way - the Adelaide test is awesome, and we'll be back again next year no matter what format.

Yeah I see what you mean about the changed conditions. You spend most if the day getting used to one set of conditions only to come out after the dinner break and find that everything has changed.

Loved Adelaide Oval when we went over for the game, we are very keen to head over for some cricket. Thinking of the ODI on Australia Day although I wouldn't mind going to the Big Bash game.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

No need to fix what ain't broken - same side for me.

Interesting to see what the Poms do. If I were them, I'd go with:
        Cook
        Stoneman
        Root
        Bairstow
        Vince
        Ali
        Foakes (keeper)
        Woakes
        Overton
        Broad
        Anderson

Not sure how they justify having Bairstow at 7 and keeping when he's clearly the second best batsman in a weak lineup.

Foakes and Woakes. No wonder they left Stokes home. That would have been one too many.

              I believe it was 1981/2.

Unbelievable Melbourne test match that Ashes series. Border and Thomson needed 76 for the last wicket and got 73 of them before Thommo was caught, dropped and then caught again in the slips.

Did you go on the last day when they opened the gates?

I think it's the first test I went to all five days of. i can remember going to test matches before but not every day.

We had to go on the last day. The symmetry was perfect. Border and Thomson needed 76 and they had made 38 of them before stumps.

There was a pretty big crowd and I've never seen a crowd so intent on the play. When Thommo nicked that last ball it flys to Cook at slip and the crowd all goes "ohhhh" at the same time but Cook snatches at the ball and makes a mess of the catch and the ball hits his hand and loops up in the air behind Cook and the crowd goes "ahhhh" until Botham (I think it's Botham, it has to be Botham, who else would it be?) runs behind and catches the ball. And everybody at the same time kerbs out a disapointed "oooooooh" it was tge weirdest thing.

Unchanged line-up for the Aussies. Hopefully there will be some cricket today

                        It was Geoff Miller.

Rod Marsh was looking through lockers, kit bags and under benches in the rooms after the game. When questioned he replied "I'm looking for four runs".

This Steve Smith/James Anderson stoush is an unusual combination of weird and fascinating.

Botham must have been the bowler then, he was in this somewhere. Either that or those two weeks in 1981 at Old Trafford and Headingly have traumatised me more than I am admitting.
