I don't like the idea that Konstas probably doesn't play here but does then get picked against Rabada and co in the UK. He needs time batting to figure out his game.

If we're that keen for Head to open, just slide Khawaja to 3 and everyone moves down. I think the key point was Konstas should have been in the XI if he is our preferred opener.

It's a hard logic to work out. I get the selectors might have some doubts but is Inglis the right player to fill in with the middle order.

Totally agree with this and makes sense to put Ussi at 3 and drop everyone else down.

Aussies win the toss and will bat. Inglis in for Konstas. Boland misses out so we can play 3 spinners.

These Sri Lanka bowlers take very short run ups. They should get through a heap of overs today.

It looks like we are currently planning to bat Carey ahead of Webster. I wonder if that is a lefty righty type thought process?

Head misses out on a big score and Australia now 1 for 92 after just 14 overs.

57 is still pretty good, but could have gone on with it.

Marnus is out just before lunch chasing a delivery he could have left.

Sri Lanka have sort of cursed themselves. Two very straight forward catches dropped, a missed run out and not reviewing what would have been a dismissal will plague them.
                            Smith gets his 10,000th run.

The ball is really turning and their leggie has been good.

Great 100's by both Uzzie and Smith, you didn't want to lose the toss on this.

Time to drop him - sick of his inconsistency.
