I get the notion of only wanting to bat once but we could have declared the inning 30 minutes earlier
I thought around 600 would have done but in the scheme of things I don't think it's going to matter much.

I remember a number of years ago that Sri Lanka had a cricketer who could bowl his spinners with with either arm and would do so in the same over
Kamindu Mendis who Starc just got out is now more of a batsman.
Sri Lanka is now 4 wickets down.

5 now for 117. They could be all out twice by end of play at this rate

Lets hope there isn't a lot of rain ahead.

Bothe the men and the women won their games within about 30 minutes of each other.

Cooper Connolly in contention to debut in the second test in place of Todd Murphy.

No first class wickets and we might play him as a #8 batter and part time spin bowler.
                  Shades of Steve Smith.

I've seen that it might be for Beau Webster, which is probably more of a contentious call.

I think Connolly for Murphy makes some sense - if it's ragging big, you don't need that much bowling and you might as well have the extra batting while 1-o up in the series.

I'd prefer Webster's experienced head over Connolly if that is the change.

Another failure to Marnus. Greg Blewett just mentioned that in his first 30 tests he made 10 centuries and had a batting average of 60+
The next 27 tests his average is 30 and he's made just one century.
To me he changed his batting in terms of trying to score quicker and his concentration has really slipped.

Smith makes a great challenge on an LBW decision so survives.
The batsman have to adjust to this real spinning track.
