Shame Smith couldn’t get the ton, was obviously shaken up as he batted bizarrely when he came back out.

Completely classless by Archer to not check Smith was ok and then to having a laugh with Butler. They all know what happened to Phillip Hughes and this was scarily similar.

Also the boos when Smith went off and came back on, seriously?

I loved, as a kid running in pretending I was Roberts, Holding, Garner, Croft, Marshall, Clarke, Daniel or Walsh.
It was one thing getting beaten by Botham, Willis or Cowans, but another getting smashed by the Windies; pure frightening skill.
By 1984, I was 100% awestruck by the Windies; they, not Aussie players were my icons and idols.

I hope Archer will learn from this.

Spectators attitudes are very fickle and largely based on popularity of the player concerned. I'd say many people have gone to the cricket with the sole intent to give Warner, Bancroft and Smith a hard time. They would take the injury as a chance to ramp it up against him. Cricket has normally been a bit better than that.

Archer on the other hand should know better and his behavior was a very sour note on an otherwise impressive Test debut performance. Buttler is an experienced campaigner and clearly has a disappointing attitude.

Archer still has to tour Australia. Lets see how many laughs he's having when bay 13 is getting stuck in. I'm betting he will be on the first plane home with the taste of the salt of his tears still strong.

Let's see how mentally tough he is. That's what test cricket is all about, it's not like bowling ten overs and then done. It's who is the toughest and Archer doesn't seem all that tough to me. He's more of a bully and he will be found out.

Archer plays for the Hobart Hurricanes. Unless Cricket Australia ban him for 12 months for unsportsmanlike behaviour.

Some Root cheating, openers fail and a lame draw a disappointing test.

It was anything but a lame test, the rain saved us as did the ability to bring in a batsman for the first time in test history to cover for a concussion injury.

9 fieldsman around the bat in an effort to get wickets contributed to a tense finish

Lame as in the rain spoiled it and it was going to be a draw anyway, although we did our best to lose.

Root is a big cheat and should be called out.
