Some ripper deliveries this morning. England bowled beautifully in that little spell.

This might be a silly question - but can anyone shed any light on how you would have prolonged concussion symptoms from a blow to the neck (not head)?

I know I have been critical of Rory Burns in the first 2 test, but gee, Warner has played an missed an awful lot. I think the rain breaks have helped a little. Its eased the pressure on the batsmen. Shame didn't go off before Harris nicked one - an absolute beauty too!

Off again at Headlingly. This time for poor light. The irony being that Archer has bowled unchanged and Root refused to bring on a spinner to keep the Aussies out there. If they stay off because the light has failed, it will be a win for Australia as tomorrow is forecast to be a really nice day for batting. Root would have been better placed to bring on Denly and Leach and keep the Aussies out there in the hope that it would have brightened up. Strange bit of captaincy.

Labuschagne has performed well. We would have been a shambles without his gritty effort

The England supporters are in poor form for booing Warner

Good to see Warner repaying the faith from the selectors.

Hopefully our quicks can get similar kick out of the pitch.

Jack Leach may not feature at all in this match.

What do we think of the deck? I worry that if we don't find any movement in the air, it's actually a good deck for batting.

You certainly get value for shots.

Outstanding knock from Labuschagne. Mature and composed.

Its a great deck for batting once you get in. Today is bright and sunny. No wobbly movement like yesterday. Will be a road, so expect that they will score 400+. Long couple of days for the Aussie bowlers.

                      Lambuschagne is quality.

No, I don't think so. At 2/133 Australia had wrested control of the game from England and it was looking like a bad call to bowl. Loose shot from Warner after getting himself in; a good ball to remove Head; a bit of luck to remove Wade and Paine and its a disaster.

At 2/133 we needed to push on. Warner needed to get through the Broad/Archer spell. If he did then they would have panicked. It would have meant that Head would have come in against weaker/more tired bowlers rather than a fresh Broad.

As for the top order generally. Disappointing is the only word you can use. Harris gets a pass because it was an absolute peach that got him. Khawaja is finished as a test cricketer, calling it now. Wade, look past the 100 in the 2nd dig at edgebaston and he has failed every time the pressure is on. He needed to stabilise the innings with Lambuschagne yesteray and didn't.

The start has been what we hoped for. The hard work though starts now. The ball is older, the day warmer. It will only get better form here. Key is to get them batsmen early - don't let them settle. Once you are in on this pitch its hard to get out.

England embarrassment keeps on keeping on. 67, only Denly with 12 got passed 10. Great bowling in seemingly good batting conditions.

Unreal performance. We were able to bowl Pattinson for just 5 overs as well and therefore keep him fresh for the 2nd innings

To think we have a lead of 112 after yesterdays collapse
