NZ have knuckled down and are making a fight of it. It's a shame for them that Williamson hasn't lived up to his reputation

In the hot conditions we are going to work hard from here but just need a couple of quick wickets

          All over.

Is this our most consistently threatening fast bowling cohort ever?
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

I think there have been other FBC (fast bowling collectives) but 4 known talents and a couple on the fringes means we have plenty of options. In most years Neser would have been given a chance and Richardson would be around the mark and of course the highly regarded Siddle has just bowed out

On our conditions we should be a handful for all teams. India's strength might test us

Definitely the most consistent pace bowling cartel we’ve had .
The extra 20k’s is just so massive at home .
Destroy the captain and bring the rest down
              Very impressive

You blokes missed Dennis Lillee, Jeff Thomson, Max Walker and Ashley Mallett obviously.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Lillie & Thommo the best ever.

McGrath & Gillespie with Fleming, Reiffel or Bichel as the support was awesome in the late 90's

Harris & Johnson in recent times were fantastic

The current crew are rising with a bullet though. If Patto can stay fit. Look out!

                    Just comparing the quicks:

                    Jeff Thomson 200 @ 28
                    Max Walker 138 @ 27.47
                    Dennis Lillee 355 @ 23.9

                    Patrick Cummins 139 @ 21.9 (26y old)
                    Mitchell Starc 240 @ 27.1 (29y old)
                    Josh Hazlewood 195 @ 26.20 (28y old)

I think the current crop stands up against Lillee & co...and then you have Patto in the mix too.

Mallett took a third of the wickets Lyon has and at 32 years old, the goat has plenty of years left.

Lillie is in the discussion for best fast bowler of all time

Thommo is in the discussion for most intimidating & fastest bowler of all time

Thommo was more dominant than Lillie for 2/3 years and thats incredible. That terrible shoulder injury stopped him

And we had both of them going at the same time decimating the best teams of the era. The great West Indies bowling attacks that dominated world cricket for almost 20 years thereafter were modelled on the Lillie/Thommo style.

I would love to see Cummings & Pattison fit and in form together. Especially against South Africa.

I agree with Comrade, that as a collective we have the best fast bowlers ever. Yes there have been individual fast bowling greats, but to have four quicks like we do, all capable as each other, is something we haven't had before.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. If Lillee don't get ya then Thommo must!

Lillee was an animal and Thommo was a beast.

I think the real advantage a couple of the current bowlers have over the past champs is they can bat a lot better.
