    Re: Nba

Did anyone see the Grayson Allen hammer today? I'm actually honour bound to hate him a bit less now and I don't like it.

So after a 25 year break I've decided to take my talents back to Bendigo. Yeah, I'm going to be one of those tragic old dudes trying to run around the court. My son planted the seed over Christmas holidays when I was training him and it grew over the end of his season and officially signed up last night. After a horrible bout of Covid which seems to have effected me permently, weight gain and generally feeling lost in the world I'm looking forward to the challenge and something to shoot for and get me out of this rut. I didn't get the convertable or the younger woman this is my midlfie crisis assignment. It's going to hurt like hell. Hahaha.

I took myself through a pretty hard training session Sunday and pulled up OK. Suicides, Full court lay ups, full court passing, lots of running in general. Not much sprints yet though. Shot is slowly coming back and finding range, I used to be able to shoot well outside the 3pt line with ease, just lost that stroke. Mid range is pretty darn good though.

There better not be any footage of my old ass trying to play. I'll make sure my son doesn't go near my phone.

Good luck boss. I just started playing properly again after 13 or so years off and I am way worse than I remember being.

                    Haha. I feel the same.

I went to what I thought was training yesterday and ended up being 2 hrs of pick up games against the local Phillipino community. They were so dam quick and me being old and slow struggled a lot. All things considered I did ok. Struggled with my shot, layups etc, over ran fast breaks and they were quick and athletic so rushed everything and messed up a lot I shouldn't. Defensively I did pretty well considering the speed of the game. Most importantly the body feels ok this morning, back is killing me but hurt that being a backyard warrior Saturday. I think I'll be OK at my level. Those guys were pretty bloody good and well above the level I'll be playing against.......I hope.

All over for OKC. As much as I hate that organisation I got to give props for building such a good young team. Just watching this game you see that they are missing a big, they have Chet incoming but he's not going to answer that problem. It'll be interesting to see what they do in the offseason, target and trade or sign a big or just continue to draft?

I don't follow an NBA team but casual interest in the aussie players. How did Giddey go yesterday and do you see him staying there?

Giddey didn't have a great one today. But he's only 20. I can't see why he'd leave OKC. They have a great young core and are loaded with first round draft picks for years. They'll be a force for a decade if they play their cards right.

They stole my team. Moved them to that shithole and called them something else. I'm starting to soften since Giddey is there and they're an actual NBA team trying to build a foundation rather than buy it. They do deserve some respect.

I think he'll stay there for his first extension at least. His 2nd might be a different story. It's not a great place to be, a hard place to attract FA and keep them. Growing together might create a family atmosphere amongst the group and they may show some loyalty which is a forgotten word in this league. I have a bit more hope we'll see a change of attitude when the Lebron era dies and his merry band of circus superstars retire with him. We'll see.
