Very impressive Game 1. He had his hands on everything at both ends. Such a weapon to have going into the finals.

      Re: Nba

Just disappointing from the Mavs. Great fightback but just not executing or making enough consistent stops. Luka lost them that game, those idiotic falls at the end of the 1st. He lay on the ground yelling at officials while Boston put on 5 quick points and losing their lead, his defence was ordinary and selective. He's not a great defensive player but can do enough to get by. You watch his D in the 1st compared to most of the game and it's miles apart. Mavs also Iso way too much, it ices their team. Boston iso a bit as well but their teamates still get a lot of looks and become effective while Dallas role players are just guys on the court. Look at Derrick White a key to this series, making huge plays and is a role player. I'm disappointed, I wanted a longer series but it's going to be sone in 4 or 5.

Feels like we haven't had a decent finals series for a while.

Mavs being brought back down to earth.

Luka is annoying, so I kinda like that Boston are about to sweep them.

Yeah it's been crap honestly. A shame really. Minnesota just matched up well with the nuggets. Mavs had the perfect strategy for the wolves and now the celtics have the perfect plan against the mavs.

The wolves mavs series should have been closer though. The wolves just couldn't make any adjustments which I thought was poor. But the mavs hit crazy shots that series that they can't do at all this series.

Luka is intolerable and I want to watch him lose every time I see him play.

Which is a shame because he gives slow fat white guys a totem, but he's just an insufferable whinger. I bet Kyrie just wants to drive him off the edge of the Earth.

Whinged about everything today. Like I said to my son, offence is only one part of the game and Luka is excellent at that.

As a neutral you probably want to extend the series as long as possible. I do as wel. I do enjoy watching well drilled teams though and Boston when focused are a class abive everyone. They did have some lapses today but changed things around often and kept swinging the game back their way. They wouldn't be pleased with the 21 point swing in the 4th and the stupid play by Horford down the stretch. That was very unlike them.

Denver Vs Boston would have been a better series.

Being a huge NBA/NBL fan wouldn’t mind bringing this thread back to life.
Despite the negativity around the ratings etc I reckon this NBA season is shaping up as one of the best.
I think there might be 8-9 teams that can win it
Boston, Bucks, Cavs and Knicks in the east
Out west, OKC, Wolves, Grizzlies, Denver (especially if they snag Lavine) Dallas.
Then you’ve got the Suns, especially if then can pull of a Butler trade.
Anyone else getting around the NBA?

                          G’day MJP,

Well they’re 11th currently and I don’t think Beal (who would have to be included in a trade) is the player he used to be and Butler would be a pretty big upgrade on him for multiple reasons.
I don’t think they can pull it off but would make them a better team if they could.
                          1. Defensive Ability: Butler is a top-tier defender, often being recognised as one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. He can guard multiple positions effectively and is known for his ability to shut down opposing stars in critical moments. Beal, while not a poor defender, doesn't have the same impact on that end of the floor.
                          2. Two-Way Impact: Butler is a much more complete two-way player. His defense combined with his offensive scoring, playmaking, and leadership make him a more versatile and valuable asset. Beal is a dynamic scorer, but Butler brings a more balanced skill set on both ends of the court.
                          3. Playoff Performance: Butler has consistently elevated his game in the playoffs
In summary, Jimmy Butler's two-way prowess, leadership, and proven playoff pedigree make him a more complete and impactful player than Bradley Beal, especially for teams looking to contend for championships.

I personally would look to find an upgrade at centre for Nurk but we’ll see ‍♂️

Yeah - I'm sold on Butler the player but not on his fit in Phoenix. The ball needs to go through Jimmy at the finish of games so "Jimmy can Jimmy"...that can't/wont happen in Phoenix where Durrant and Booker will remain 1-2...

Beal was a mistake from the get go.

What do you think if they BENCH Nurk full-time and try to convince KD to play as a full time centre (you are what you defend) rather than freelancing so much? I mean, they have hired a system based coach but seem to be relying on talent to bank wins...makes no sense to me at all.

I think there are opponents where you can play KD at the 5 100% especially to close with. They will just want to avoid Denver, they need a Joker stopper.
                              Good points re-Butler, I agree.
I can see him having an impact at Houston.

I heard a crazy rumour the other day that had

                              Durant to Rockets
                              Butler to Suns
Green and some pieces to Miami

I think Cam Johnson and Lavine will move soon and keep a close eye on Fox….way too much noise about him not signing at Kings

Agree totally. Beal and Butler are like apples and oranges.

Imo Beal has always been overrated but for phoenix to add him alongside Booker AND Durant? I never understood it.

Butler needs the ball in order to be effective. Agree it won't happen at phoenix.

Fox has been linked with the spurs but I don't see san antonio giving up the capital that Sacramento would want. I also think Fox wants to hit an immediate contender. He'll have better luck targeting the weak east. The west is a gauntlet.

Also as a spurs fan, as excited as I am with Wemby, the additions of Paul and Barnes have made a HUGE difference. Experience is invaluable. You can have all the young potential in the world but they need on court leadership to get anywhere.
